'''Achievements''' are rewards for meeting certain goals or finishing quests and tasks. These can be small things such as completing quests, or dealing huge amounts of damage in a single blow. They carry no advantage in play, but some achievements unlock classes and races which can not otherwise be used. Player achievements can be viewed on the [http://te4.org Tales of Maj'Eyal website] under 'My Profile' after a player has logged in.

On [[Difficulty|easy]] difficulty level no achievements are granted. Most achievements can be achieved 9 times depending on the [[difficulty]] and [[permadeath]] settings:

Due to this the game has a staggering 1782 achievements on [http://steamcommunity.com/stats/259680/achievements Steam], possibly the highest of any game on Steam.

If a player achieves a achievement at a certain combination of difficulty and permadeath settings, then in-game and on TE4.org, they will also receive the corresponding achievements for all difficulties and permadeath settings that are the same or easier. (e.g. Getting an achievement on Nightmare Roguelike would also grant it on Exploration, Normal Adventure, Normal Roguelike, and Nightmare Adventure. Getting an achievement on Insane Adventure would also grant it on Exploration, Normal Adventure, and Nightmare Adventure.) However, this does not automatically occur for Steam achievements. If the player wants to receive these achievements on Steam, they can push the achievements from the website to their game (opened via Steam).

Achievements are tracked on both an account-wide level and a per-character level. For most achievements, they will be announced on each character where they are achieved, not just on the first character when they were achieved. (There is some extra fanfare for the first time a player achieves an achievement.) The exception is achievements that are tracked across all games on a single computer.{{Verify}}

== Description ==
Krogs were formerly Ogres, that have been radically changed. Stripped of the runes from their bodies, the Ziguranth have managed to prevent the Krog from dying by injecting them with a concoction of natural infusions and drake blood. The Krog are entirely devoted to the anti-magic cause and seemingly know of nothing else in their lives. They possess the Wrath of the Wilds talent which allows them to stun/daze their foes.

The first floor (40x25) is the entrance to the G.E.M itself. One can find the [[Half-Mechanized Yeti]] required for they [[Mystery of the Yetis]] quest here.

The second floor is (60x60) is a mechnical type, and the third floor (30x30) is the command deck.

NPCs are steam giant warriors and gunners, steam spinders, horrors, and yetis. The guardian is [[Haze Commander Parmor]], who always drops Steam Powered Armour recipe.

Cave of Hatred

The Cave of Hatred is a dungeon you can get to after encountering Crimson Templar John on the world map at the bridge near sunwall outpost. You need to wear the [[Ring of Lost Love]] for him to spawn though.

You'll have to defeat four mini-boss shadows, each which generate some lore on death. Then you'll face the zombie [[Outpost Leader John]], now back as [[Crimson Templar John]].

==Zone Information==
Daikara (or "the Daikara") is a second-tier zone in the far northeastern part of [[Maj'Eyal]], just south of the long mountain chain, and quite some distance east of [[Shatur]].

Among the second-tier zones, Daikara is by far the most dangerous, due to the types of monsters found here. Don't let the 7 to 16 level range fool you; there are packs of snow giants with confusion talents, thunderers with ranged lightning attacks, boulder throwers with ranged physical area-of-effect plus knockback, cold drakes with cold breath attacks, wall-eating monsters, and many others. Cold and lightning and stun resistance are all useful here; confusion resistance starts to become noticeably important as well. Knockback resistance helps against the boulder throwers.

The layout is best described as mountainous, with narrow tunnels leading to large, irregular open areas. The entrance of each level is on the southern edge; the exit, on the northern edge. The levels are fully lit.

[[escorts|Escort quests]] may be found here. As of beta 32, escort quests are no longer generated on level 3 due to the [[Temporal Rift]] entrance, which appears randomly on Daikara level 3. If you are a Temporal Warden, your own clone will also spawn here. Getting killed by it doesn't actually kill you.

The standard boss is [[Rantha the Worm]], a cold drake with thematic talents (ice storm, ice claw, etc.), who appears randomly on level 4. This dungeon has an alternate layout (fire-based instead of cold-based), with the guardian [[Varsha the Writhing]] (a fire drake). After returning from the [[Far East]], the [[backup guardian]] is [[Massok the Dragonslayer]], an orc with [[berserker]] talents.

The random unique NPC [[Harkor'Zun]] may also appear here. This being begins as several "fragmented essences"; defeating these causes "the real Harkor'Zun" to be reconstituted. Before version 1.7, defeating Harkor'Zun was required to unlock the {{c|Stone}} spell talent tree.

You will need to defeat the acolytes before the counter runs out. Failing to do so fails the quest, and summons the demon [[Kryl-Feijan]].

After defeating the acolytes and freeing her from her restraints, you must escort her to the exit from the 5th floor to the world map. To keep her safe, you can kill the remaining enemies on the floor before escorting her. This is possible because you can dig a curved tunnel, lead her into it, and teleport out (in a pinch, a speed infusion will work too), leaving her stuck in it, and come back and lead her out when the coast is clear.
