I read this as: After grafting your Focus to a (non-magic) item/weapon, you can select the resulting magic weapon, to retrieve your Focus. The text further leads me to believe the Focus could be spent again, on a new item/weapon. Please enlighten me if I interpret this wrongly, but even more importantly, I'd kill (101 skeleton mages with a spoon) to learn what other message is meant by the above quoted text!

The ruins of a lost city is a zone in the Embers of Rage campaign. It is located in the Erúan desert.

NPCs are sandworms, ritches, snakes, fire and multi-hued drakes, and horrors.

The top floor is desert theme, and may have vaults.

The second floor is cavern type. The schematic for Payload is on the second floor. This floor features several "Worms that walk".

The third floor is special, and contains the Old Psi-Machine, which gives the quest Mystery of the Yetis, the replacement for escorts in the Embers of Rage campaign. The third floor has a fixed layout, and it has no NPCs, except Guardian Psi-Ghosts, which are not hostile to you. (Incidentally, they have stealth, so you may not see them.)

Zone Information
The Unknown Tunnels are hidden and do not appear on the map. Rather, they are keyed by a random encounter on the world map (in Maj'Eyal). You must be at least level 18 for this encounter to occur. The encounter text is:

:You find a hidden trap door, and hear cries for help from within...

Choosing to enter will put you on level 1 of the zone. The top level is a darkened maze of single-wide corridors, with no exit back to the surface, and only a single (randomly placed) exit leading downward.

The second level has a fixed layout with some rectangular rooms on a lighted, open level, with some NPCs (see below). You will find a merchant (nonhostile), the Assassin Lord, and assorted rogue-type henchmen. This is the body of the Trapped! quest.

REWARD: Solving said quest will give you access to an extra merchant (selling 'all sorts'), in Last Hope.

Of note is the presence of summoning traps, which when stepped on surrounds you with thieves. This can pose a significant danger for an unaware character, particularly if lightly armored or susceptible to sudden perforation.
