The goal of the quest is to crush the steam giants riding the G.E.M. (and the horrors who got inside), in order to stop any information from getting back to the [[Palace of Fumes]] (e.g. about how the player character just devastated the [[Gates of Morning (Embers of Rage)|Gates of Morning]]). This quest is completed when [[Haze Commander Parmor]] is killed.<br />

In-story, this quest may not have actually been necessary, because the steam giants were actually fleeing away from the Palace of Fumes and planning to escape using the [[farportal]] in the Gates of Morning, but the player character didn't know that.<br />
