Defense determines a character's ability to dodge physical attacks. Ranged Defense is a separate stat but uses the same formula.

The Defense formula is:

Defense bonuses from equipment
+ (Dexterity - 10) * 0.35 
+ Defense bonuses from talents 
+ (Luck) * 0.4)

Raw Defense is rescaled to produce the final Defense value.
