The Southern Beach is a beach zone to the south of Last Hope. During the quest Melinda, lucky girl, you and Melinda go on a date to it (and she is temporarily added to your party). It has a static layout, with grass and trees to the north, sand in the middle, and water to the south. The exit portal is among the trees to the north, but you cannot exit until the date is finished.
Your date will be interrupted by the arrival of Yaech raiders, which target Melinda. They spawn in the water. After 1 turn, 12 raiders appear. Once 4 raiders die, Melinda will lose her 86% resistance to all damage, and be flagged to resurrect one time when she would die, and 20 more raiders will appear. This is indicated with the message "Melinda begins to glow with an eerie aura!". 3 turns after the 4th raider died, Melinda will automatically "die", if she hasn't already.
When Melinda resurrects, she will deal 10000 Blight damage to each of the raiders, killing them all, with the message "As Melinda is about to die a powerful wave of blight emanates from her!". You can then escape together with her, and discuss her condition along the way.
It is possible that Melinda dies before gaining her resurrection, and so dies permanently. If this happens, the quest will be failed.
