Damage Reduction, Armor, Resistances, and Affinities

Armour value is a damage reduction from every incoming melee and ranged physical attack. Absorbs (hardiness)% of incoming physical damage, up to a maximum of (armour) damage absorbed.

This is countered by armour penetration and is applied before all kinds of critical damage increase, talent multipliers and damage multiplier, thus making even small amounts have greater effects.

Examples:

We assume a player with 30 armor and 50% armor hardiness

1: You are hit by an attack dealing 100 damage, the maximum value you can absorb is damage * armor hardiness = 100 * 50% = 50 damage However, you only have 30 armor so you absorb 30 damage, and the hit results in 100-30=70 damage

2: You are hit by an attack dealing 10 damage, the maximum value you can absorb is 10 * 50% = 5 damage So the final damage is 10 - 5 = 5 damage


Armour penetration

Armour penetration reduces an opponents armour by the APR value.
