Special effect when this weapon hits: deal magical damage

Special effect when this weapon hits: swallows the victim's soul, gaining a new power until unequipped

Description This heavy, ridged blade emanates magical power, yet as you grasp the handle an icy chill runs its course through your spine. You feel the disembodied presence of all those slain by it. In unison, they demand company.

The "magical damage" dealt by Morrigor is equal to your Magic stat, split evenly between arcane and darkness damage; for a character with 60 Magic, it would deal 30 arcane and 30 darkness damage.

Upon killing a creature, if Morrigor does not already have a talent held in it, it will steal a random talent from the slain creature, which may then be activated by using Morrigor. It will always be at talent level 1, and Morrigor's maximum power and power cost will be set to the talent's cooldown (or 5 if it does not have a cooldown).

The following talents cannot be stolen:

  • Sustained or passive talents
  • Prodigies
  • Talents with an "on pre use" function (as of 1.0.4, the only talents for which this is relevant are Harass Prey, Rampage, and Slam)
  • Talents with no_npc_use
  • Hidden talents (e.g. the Mana Pool talent)
  • Nature gifts
  • Talents in the "other" category (e.g. Attack, many NPC talents such as Mind Disruption, Strike...)
  • Talents in the "horrors" category (e.g. Worm Rot, Abyssal Shroud...)
  • Talents in the "race" category
  • Inscription talents
  • Hide in Plain Sight

Note that undead racial talents, unlike all the other racial talents, are not in the "race" category. Bone Armour, Ghoulish Leap, Ghoul Rot, and Retch can be stolen!

The talent may be released at any time with Soul Purge so that you may capture a new one.
