Hey, thanks for the welcome! I just have one question for now - where should I put extra details about a talent that aren't part of the description? Specifically, Tricks of the trade (talent) was slightly confusing to me because it halves damage penalties from invisibility, not from Invisibility (technically, it halves damage penalties from EFF_INVISIBILITY and Invisibility gives EFF_GREATER_INVISIBILITY as of the 1.7 rework). Anyways, I put a note on the Tricks of the trade page about that in case someone else might be confused by it, but I wasn't sure if I should have done it a different way. I checked the wiki questions page and saw someone asked pretty much the same question a couple years ago but it was never answered (lol) so if there's a better way to do it, let me know. Thanks! Hi. I don't know where the best place is to add extra details about a talent. I don't know if there is supposed to be a policy for how to do this. I'm not an admin or anything, I've just been one of the more active editors on the wiki for a little while (this currently isn't a very active wiki, at least compared to other wikis I've seen). I think the way you did it was good, and doesn't need to be changed. I remember adding more details to the description box (maybe in italics) when I did this kind of thing, but that might have not been the best way to do it. (I don't think I've done this very much.)

I haven't worked on talents much, because they're widely out of date, and [1] has up-to-date talents, so it isn't so vital to the playerbase for the wiki to have the talents right now, IMO. I want to revive the bot that automatically made talent pages, and I found the Github page for the bot, but I haven't worked on it yet beyond that. ScienceBall (talk) 04:57, 5 August 2021 (CEST)

I just wanted add a bit of my opinion. I think these additional notes on how talents actually work or interact with each other is really valuable for this wiki. While ToME Tips is a great site, it still has many limitations. Does a talent use raw or effective talent levels for some secondary effect? What is the breakpoint for a talent to gain an extra effect if you are using the Adept prodigy? Does Range Amplification Device affect Fire/Ice/Brain/Mind/Poison Storm? Game details like this really need to be crowd sourced, so this wiki can still be a very important source for talent information. I think it is a good idea to add notes like these to the talent page. As long as we also record the version number at the time (and it was in this case), then later readers should be able to make good use of that information. Vyn (talk) 17:54, 15 August 2021 (CEST)

I want to translate the wiki into Spanish

Hello man, I move my question here. I have been a translator of forums, articles and games for years. I have also translated a lot of Wikipedia.org articles. I want to translate the pages of this Wiki https://te4.org/ into Spanish, firstly because I love the game and I'm playing it, and secondly, I think it would be a good contribution to the T.O.M.E community. I don't know if I'm in the right section lifting this here.

Hi Naldog. I only speak English, and I don't currently know anything about the process of translating a wiki into another language.

Apart from talking on the wiki itself, there is also a #wiki channel in the official Tales of Maj'Eyal Discord server (https://discord.gg/tales-of-majeyal). Maybe you could get more people's attention there? (I don't know how many people check talk pages apart from their own "User talk".)

By the way, when you leave a message on a talk page, you're supposed to sign it. (I signed your previous message for clarity.) Hello ScienceBall. Exactly that, I wanted to see the possibility if the Wiki someone can add a section for "Other languages" to be able to include Spanish and more people use the game, add more users. I translate from English to Spanish, I have experience (I have 42 years old). For example, I have created game Wikis like ADOM (another Roguelike), the wiki in Spanish, but of course Adom is on another platform that is not Wikipedia, but I created 80 pages myself https://adom.fandom.com/es/ wiki/Wiki_Adom. External link to tometips.github.io for Talents

Hey there. Since you've been around a while here, you'll probably notice I added a link to tometips.github.io on the Talents page. I found out about it after I found one page here completely out of date and an admin? Moasseman recommended it. Ambush_(category) currently is missing two talents added in the current version and still has the older ones. I thought it would be really helpful to put the link somewhere here. I think what would be better is to make it more prominent, maybe a disclaimer with a link to it...given that this wiki is not maintained. Just on Talents at least the information seems fully up to date and more comprehensive. I would have never found that link had they not replied to my post. What do you think?
