There are nine player races in ToME, six available by default, and three unlockables.

Italic numbers are penalites.

(**) Race must be changed inside a current game. Only available to a specific unlockable class. Attribute modifiers depend on advancment in a specific talent.
Each race other than Cornac has a racial talent tree. Cornacs get a category point instead.
