Ashes of Urh'Rok 1.4.0

Official Expansion!

Many in Maj'Eyal have heard of "demons", sadistic creatures who appear seemingly from nowhere, leaving a trail of suffering and destruction whereever they go. Their Fearscape floats far above the skies, watching and waiting, but not idly; their agents scout the land, their legions build up their forces, and their scholars develop new spells and strategies. As the barrier between our worlds begins to crack under their scrutiny, helpless Eyalites have begun to disappear, whisked up to serve as their slaves and playthings. They imbue these victims with magical powers to better survive the ensuing stresses - can you use your new-found abilities to escape the legions of Mal'Rok?

Features:

  • Start with a new class, the Doombringer! These avatars of demonic destruction charge into battle with massive two-handed weapons, cutting swaths of firey devastation through hordes of opponents. Armed with flame magic and demonic strength, they delight in fighting against overwhelming odds, softening up the crowd with waves of fire, then feeding on the flames and suffering of their surroundings to stay alive while quickly reducing any group to a pile of ash and gore.
  • Unlock a new class, the Demonologist, with an all-new item enhancement mechanic! Bearing a shield and the magic of the Spellblaze itself, these melee-fighting casters can grow demonic seeds from their fallen enemies. Imbue these seeds onto your items to gain a wide array of new talents and passive benefits, and summon the demons within them to fight on your side! Ever looked at a gigantic demon-cursed minotaur and wished it was on your side for once? Well, now you CAN summon one to pound your foes into paste while you cast devastating spells from afar, or call forth a squad of Fire Imps to pelt your enemies to death while they exhaust themselves on your impenetrable defenses! Demons have persistent health, making them a little more precious than disposable necromancer skeletons or summoner beasts, but can be revived from death nonetheless.
  • Two new zones, with all-new art, foes, and bosses! You've seen the plains of the Fearscape before, now see the lairs and headquarters of the demons themselves!
  • Over 10,000 words of written lore to find! The demons were once an enlightened, peaceful race, hailing from a distant planet known as Mal'Rok; learn what drove them to plot Eyal's eternal torture! Discover monuments to each of the demonic species and noteworthy individuals, showing the place of honor each has among them! Get a glimpse into the culture and daily lives of these sadistic invaders and their brainwashed thralls!
  • Unlock a new race, Doomelves: Shalore who've taken to the demonic alterations especially well, corrupting their typical abilities into a darker form. Blink away to safety, transform into a shadowy dúathedlen to hide in the shadows or prey on your foes with blasts of darkness, use your new resilience to soak up status effects and critical hits, and assault your enemies' minds to leave them unsteady in combat!
  • Between the aforementioned classes and Doomelves, a whopping 75 new talents!
  • Unlock two new cosmetic options! You know you've always wanted demon-horns.
  • Two new events, appearing anywhere in Eyal!
  • 20 new artifacts, with unique and interesting effects. Collect the Obsidian Treasures to amass more and more power! Slip your hands into the Will of Ul'Gruth and watch your sweeping blows smash down walls! Wear a giant hideous hell-mouth as a fashionable belt!
  • 7 new achievements! Conquer the worst Urh'Rok's forces can throw at you, and hang their metaphorical skulls from your profile page!

Embers of Rage 1.4.4

Official Expansion!

One year has passed since the one the Orcs call the "Scourge from the West" came and single-handedly crushed the Orc Prides of Grushnak, Vor, Gorbat, and Rak'Shor.  The Allied Kingdoms, now linked by farportal to their distant, long-lost Sunwall allies, have helped them conquer most of Var'Eyal.  The few remnants of the ravaged Prides are caged...  but one Pride remains.  Kruk Pride, isolated on an island, is the last orcish settlement that stands; they, too, face their impending doom.  The Sunwall has blockaded the only exit point from the island, and now, the technologically advanced civilization of Steam Giants have come down from the mountains to take their homeland with machines and weaponry unlike anything else on Eyal.  Kruk Pride has reverse-engineered their technology before; their only hope is to do it again and rise up against the Pride's foes.

Features:

  • Explore a whole new campaign from level 1 to 50, one year after the events of the original Tales of Maj'Eyal campaign. Liberate the Orcs (or die trying) by rising up against the Sunwall, the Steam Giants of Atmos, and other dangers that may lie in wait...
  • Play as one of three new races: the battle-hardened Orcs, the brutal Yetis, and the unstoppable Whitehooves. Discover their stories, their pains, their hopes... and their awesome racial powers!
  • Risk your life in over 20 unique zones! Explore the ruins of a lost city, lay siege to the Sunwall forces at the Gates of Morning, and raid the Steam Giants' mining quarry - each has its own unique foes and hazards, leading each to feel and play different from the others.
  • Play as one of the four new tinker classes: Gunslingers, Sawbutchers, Psyshots and Annihilators! Plus a class evolution: Technomancers! Crush and rend your foes with heavy metal, electrocute and immolate them with your gadgets, charge across the battlefield or nimbly strafe in style - each plays differently, and none provide any shortage of ways to slay your foes.
  • Master steam technology to build powerful tinkers to augment your equipment. Need to close in a bit quicker? Turn your boots into rocket boots! Having a hard time deciding whether to shoot someone or stab them? Build a Hand Cannon into your gloves, or deploy a Weapon Automaton to do the stabbing for you! If you have a problem, steamtech has a solution, usually involving explosions; with over 80 different powerful contraptions to craft, enjoy unparalleled versatility and trying something different with every playthrough.
  • Master the tactical uses of over 140 talents! Fire bouncing trick-shots and psychic-infused shots, use your steamsaws as shields or wheels, terrify your foes with long mechanical arms - there are no "boring" talents here, everything has its own special applications and properties!
  • Use advanced technology in the world of Eyal! Burrow through sand, plant bombs to destroy tunnels, and discover that you aren't alone in using it...
  • Infusions and runes are for puny humans; implant new medical injectors to pump an array of experimental chemicals into your body! Injectors can use any (infinitely reusable) salve in your inventory as long as they're off their cooldown, giving you versatility you've wished you could get with a couple of inscriptions.
  • Loot over 70 new and powerful artifacts. Pump lead into foes with big guns, quick guns, and explosive guns! Shred them with saws that maim, saws that thirst for blood, and saws that aren't really saws! Violate common sense by strapping a rocket to your back and calling it a jetpack!
  • Enjoy dying in horrible and exotic ways at the hands (or claws, jaws, guns...) of over 140 new creatures! Not mere piles of stats and chain-stuns, these foes will provide unique challenges - suffer the Sunwall's newest cosmic spells, the new breeds of ritches that infest and multiply, the Steam Giants' elaborate defense systems, and find new strategies to adapt to each!
  • Earn a trunkload of achievements! Have your accomplishments recognized for liberating the Orcish people, displaying exceptional mercy or cruelty, or showing your prowess with impressive feats! Give a boss a fate worse than death, show Sunwall forces how frustrating it is to fight a Radiant Horror as a paladin, come out on top against impossible odds, display a suicidal lack of situational awareness, and wear a badge of pride or shame for each!
  • Read roughly 27,000 words of new lore to immerse yourself in the world! Learn how things have changed since the Scourge's campaign, feel hatred and/or pity for your foes, uncover grand schemes and sinister plots, and notice the elaborate connections between Var'Eyal's numerous factions. Every zone has a story behind it, and every story ties into a bigger picture; enjoy a tale of horror and humor, of intrigue and glory, of despair and hope.
  • Earn the right to use the classic (and Ashes of Urh'Rok) classes in Embers of Rage, and the new tinker classes in Maj'Eyal! Play a Brawler in the East to fulfill your life-long dream of suplexing an entire nation of giants, or play a Sawbutcher in Maj'Eyal to shred through Dreadfell in a whirlwind of sawblades and steam!

Odyssey of The Summoner 1.4.8

This is a highly extensive "unofficial DLC" that takes the summonable creatures from the Summoner class and turns them into fully-talented, highly-comprehensive classes with their story and unique events.
This pack features the ranged summons: Hydra, Fire Drake, and Flamespitter Ritch.

      • Disclaimer: This is NOT a full release. There WILL be errors and unpredictable behavior. I am patching things out actively, so play with discretion and send as much feedback as possible to the forum thread to accelerate the completion process!

Details:
This modifies the "Age of Ascendency" story, as you are no longer human, but rather, a natural, spiritual being. This means several conversations and services may become unavailable or even change to behave in new ways.
The plot's progression is mostly unchanged, but now you are operating under the command of an ominous individual known only as "The Summoner". He sends you off to do tasks-- But in the end, it is up to you to decide whether you will work cooperatively with him or not.
This was a labour of love, and I would want nothing more than for you to enjoy a new flavor of experience-- And a new type of challenge and difficulty in Tales of Maj'Eyal.
Please, enjoy!

Expanded Details:
"Hydra is a nigh-indestructible damage sponge that doles out as much as it takes, capable of attacking several times and several targets per turn. It possesses Feral, Glare, and Drool heads, each respectively associated with its Physical, Mental, and Magical wellbeing. You can choose whether you want to bite, stare, or spew your enemies to death-- Or maybe even some combination of such!"
"Fire Drake is a dedicated pet general, leading a batch of child fire dragons called 'Drakelings'. They are capable of growing and learning many of your talents-- But you must choose whether you will dedicate yourself to nurturing them, or making yourself powerful enough to protect them from the dangers of Eyal. Cooperation and good education is the key to success!"
"Ritch is a fullblown assassin, possessing a variety of techniques that want nothing more than for its victims to bleed, burn, and die to death-- And not necessarily in that order. Most significantly, they can craft and engraft bladed weapons to replace their claws, making them the only Avatar class capable of utilizing human weaponry. Killing is a skill, and you're good at it!"

Class Talents

Wild-child / Fervency1.10
  • Effective talent level: 0.0
    Use mode: Passive
Description: You make a spectacle of death, utterly mangling and tearing apart the corpses of your victims, leaving behind an unrecognizable mess.
When you kill a target, every point of damage you cause beyond 21.9% of their maximum life will become "overkill", which will demoralize all nearby enemies.
Demoralization shocks your victims out of focus, reducing the duration of effects they inflict upon you by 1% per point (such that 50 Demoralization would be -50% duration).
Demoralization stacks additively, but diminishes multiplicatively (-10% per turn). However, it does not work on targets immune to fear.
Instant kills are considered as clean, bearable deaths and will not trigger an overkill.
    Demoralization per 100 overkill: 0.0
    Macabre End
0/5
  • Effective talent level: 0.0
    Use mode: Passive
Description: Your swings are unrestrained and impatient, each one attempting to hack through one target and reach into the next.
0% of your Overkill will be dealt to a random enemy adjacent to the initial target as Physical damage.
    Burst Slash
0/5
  • Effective talent level: 0.0
    Use mode: Activated
    Stamina cost: 80
    Range: melee/personal
    Cooldown: 20
    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Instant (0% of a turn)
Description: Aaah... The joy of bloodshed! The thrill of slaughter and carnage!
For 0 turns, you spin and twirl about every time you make a melee attack, hacking and slicing at everything around you, dealing 0 Physical damage. Additionally, this will break all stuns and pins currently affecting you, as well as giving you 100% Stun Immunity.
If you have killed something by the time this effect ends, you will gain 1 physical power and 2.6% combat speed for each foe killed since you started for 5 turns. Otherwise, you will become confused for 2 turns.
Beware, if you become pinned during this effect, it will end prematurely.
The damage scales with your strength and dexterity.

    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Standard (100% of a turn)
Description: To deliver a message, you savagely cut an appendage off a target foe, dealing 62% physical weapon damage and causing a terrible wound that bleeds over a few turns for 0% of the damage done.
All damage caused by this attack is considered as Overkill. Also, if this attack kills the target, you'll take another appendage off (just to be sure), doubling the Overkill.
    Total damage w/ 100 damage: 62
    Overkill on kill w/ 100 damage: 124

Wild-heart / Stinger1.30
  • Effective talent level: 2.6
    Use mode: Passive
Description: Allows you to prepare a stinger, inflicting a special kind of painful, torturous agony on those struck, granting you a 7.9% chance to perform a "sting" after melee attacks.
Stings are blighted, weaponless melee attacks that add a potent, life-threatening disease that deals 61 blight damage over 10 turns.
Each talent level, you will gain a new type of sting and increase the potency of the disease it causes:
Level 1 ~ Pernicious (blocks some healing)
Level 2 ~ Atrophic (stronger at lower life)
    Level 3 ~ Infectious (powerful w/ bleeds)
Level 4 ~ Writhing (counters cures)
Level 5 ~ Pestilent (powerful, weak vs cures)
The chance of stinging increases with dexterity and physical critical chance, while the potency of the sting improves with constitution and accuracy.
    Deadly Sting
2/5
  • Effective talent level: 0.0
    Use mode: Sustained
    Sustain stamina cost: 20
    Range: melee/personal
    Cooldown: 9
    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Standard (100% of a turn)
Description: You rise up onto your hind legs, standing in a bent-back stance, now only attacking with your stinger.
Because this stance focuses solely on injecting your victim, your accuracy increases by 0 but your defense reduces by 42 and your movement speed by 56%.
Beware that attacking without a stinger deployed will be extremely ineffective.
    Predator Stance
0/5
  • Effective talent level: 0.0

    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Standard (100% of a turn)
Description: You pounce upon a victim up to 0 tiles away, attempting to inject them while they're immobilized.
If you land successfully, you will perform a sting with 0% more potency, as this sting will be a clean hit.
If Predator Stance is active, it will deactivate and the sting will become 0% deadlier.
    Diving Bomb

  • Effective talent level: 0.0

    Equilibrium cost: 20
    Range: melee/personal
    Cooldown: 71
    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Standard (100% of a turn)
Description: Using the heat and pressure of your body, you fire the stinger on your stinging partition, performing a powerful ranged stinging attack with 0% more potency.
This shot will rip through everything that isn't the primary target, instantly applying 30% of the disease's power as physical damage.
It will take a while for you to produce another stinger, preventing you from preparing stings while this talent is on cooldown.
Talent levels will shorten the cooldown significantly.

    Cooldown: 10
    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Standard (100% of a turn)
Description: Where the overcautious might hold back with their weaponry, you feel no cause to do so if the same results would come in half the time.
Tightening your grip, your melee attacks with Impermanent weaponry will hit 54% harder, but you will consume 26% more durability.
If you attack without an impermanent weapon, you will instead use your hookclaw, but you will bleed for 26 physical damage over a few turns.

    Durability cost: 0

    Cooldown: 20
    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Instant (0% of a turn)
Description: With no regard for your weapons, you block the next 0 intentional powerful attacks (greater than 20% of your current life) for 10 turns, negating the damage and instead depleting your weapons' durabilities by a fraction (43%) of the damage caused.
If you have a pair of weapons, the durability loss is split equally.
Even if depletion far exceeds a weapon's current durability, all damage dealt is still negated.
You must have at least one impermanent weapon to use this talent.

Description: You smash your Impermanent weapons into the target with intent to destroy your blades, dealing 155% weapon damage with each weapon and consuming 48 of their durabilities.
Each weapon that breaks will leave shattered pieces in your victim, causing Deep Wounds for 0% of the total damage dealt and reducing their healing by 50%.
Strong-Arm will affect the damage and durability loss of this talent.
You must have at least one impermanent weapon to use this talent.

    Durability cost: 51.2
    Range: melee/personal
    Cooldown: 19
    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Standard (100% of a turn)
Description: With a careful swing, you release the weapons from your grip without destroying them, turning them into deadly, spinning projectiles.
This sends a projectile for each weapon thrown, dealing 145% of their weapon damage. Upon striking the target, hitting a wall, or reaching the ground, the weapons will both lose 51 durability, potentially breaking.
If this breaks the weapon, several sharp pieces of the weapon will fly about in a 2 radius, causing 25% weapon damage as bleeding over a few turns.
If the weapons hit a target and are not destroyed, they will enter the victim, becoming unretrievable until they are killed or otherwise drop the objects.
You must have at least one impermanent weapon to use this talent.

Wild-child / Metal Rending1.10
  • Effective talent level: 1.1
    Use mode: Passive
Description: One of the most vulnerable spots is the cranium-- It's just a matter of getting through to it.
Delivering a physical critical blow has a 3% chance of possibly killing the target instantly (based on yet another chance against the damage dealt and the target's remaining life).
If the target resists the instant kill (or is Elite or higher), they will instead receive 5% of their maximum life as Physical damage.
This has no effect on the undead or that which does not breathe (and hence, does not require their head.)
    Helmbreaker
1/5
  • Effective talent level: 0.0
    Use mode: Sustained
    Range: melee/personal
    Travel Speed: instantaneous
Usage Speed: Standard (0% of a turn)
Description: When melee attacked, there is a 0% chance you will completely parry the attack.
If their attacking weapon is ordinary and tier 0 or lower, there's a 0% chance you will also destroy their weapon after parrying. If they do not have a weapon, you will instead painfully maim them, reducing their attack and accuracy by 2 for 7 turns.
The chance of parrying scales with your Dexterity, while the chance of breaking scales with your Strength.
For your convenience, this talent may be toggled on and off at no expense.
    Swordbreaker

  • Effective talent level: 0.0
    Use mode: Passive
Description: Whenever you strike a critical blow, you will smash through the target's armor, carapace, hide, plating, etc..., increasing the power of the critical hit by whatever their armor hardiness is.
In addition, the target's armor is reduced by 0 for 0 turns.
This effect can stack upon itself until the target's armor is reduced to 0.

Usage Speed: Standard (100% of a turn)
Description: With a focused mind, you perform a zen-like strike with your weapons that obliterates barriers and protections, both physical and magical (in the following order):
    - If the target is blocking with a shield, you'll smash them off-guard for 0 turns, increasing your critical hit chance and power.
    - If the target has a shield effect, you'll slice right through it, destroying it instantly.
    - If the target is encased in ice, you'll slice the block up, destroying it instantly.
If none of the above is true, 25% of your weapon damage will reduce the target's armor instead (such that 100 damage would reduce their armor by 25) for a few turns.

[Plot Item]
Type: chest / sher'tul

When carried:
It can be used to transmogrify all the items in your chest at once (also done automatically when you change level), costing 0 power out of 1000/1000.

This chest is an extension of old Sher'tul places of power. Any items dropped inside are transported to an other place, processed and destroyed to extract energy.
The byproduct of this effect is the creation of gold, which is useless to process, so it is sent back to you.

When you possess the chest all items you walk upon will automatically be put inside and transmogrified when you leave the level.
Simply go to your inventory to move them out of the chest if you wish to keep them.
Items in the chest will not encumber you.
