Glutton 1.2.3

Gluttons are cursed with insatiable Hunger, which they use as a resource. It increases over time, and gives benefits and penalties depending on the current amount they have. They can Devour creatures, which they can then Digest to gain bonuses, sometimes permanent, including stat points and even talents. Since Gluttons can gain stat points from Devouring creatures, they gain no stat points per level. Since they can gain talents as well, they start with few categories. This is the basic class concept, and I hope you have fun with it. Disclaimer: the Glutton is very unbalanced right now (hence the alpha status). I welcome and encourage any feedback.

This addon grew out of an attempt to rework the Arcane Blade base class from the TOME module way back in beta. Previous versions can be found under the "Arcane Blade Rework" addon. I got sufficient positive feedback, and it was a sufficient departure from the original class, that it was decided to split it off to its own class, while letting the Arcane Blade be updated by others.

The class revolves around melee spells, utilizing a mixture of stamina and mana require skills. Probably the most unique feature are the elemental stances, only which one of is active at a time, and which are activated by using the basic elemental strikes.

Adds in a new Undead race, Ghost. Ghosts have a life rating lower than that of yeeks, but ghosts make up for this by sharing damage with their mana pool.
Being a ghost gives them access to certain categories, Ghosts can gain the following categories; Aegis, Cursed-Aura, Gloom, and Fears.

Warlocks are masters of the demonic arts. Clothed in cloth, they excel in using curses, firing bolts of fire or shadow, and summoning demons to help them in combat. Warlocks, while being excellent spell casters, also excel in providing quirky buffs and utility.

A warlock has very powerful abilities that, if used correctly, make them a very formidable opponent. Using their curses in combination with direct damage spells and fears, Warlocks wreak havoc and destruction.

The class is in an alpha stage but is playable.

implemented:

blood pool: a resource that add to life, as long as you have blood in your blood pool damage dealt to you will apply on your blood pool instead of your life.

sanguinism talent tree

- Feast:
Feast upon target's blood dealing a percentage of damage draining his blood out.
If the target dies, a percentage of his max heal will be added to your max blood pool.
Plus his corps will be added to your corps pool.
The maximum amount of creature you caan store in your corps pool is 80
The damage dealt increase based on talent level and the higest stat. strengh or willpower
the pencentages increase with the talent level.

- Empowerment:
Increases the bonuses for having blood in your pool
damage, defence, spellpower and mindpower increase if you have blood remainig incrase with talent level.

- Exsanguation:
Drain the blood from a feasted corps
drain a percentage of corps max heal.
Plus at level 5: each row of 10 creature exsangued grant a stat point
each row of 25 creature exsangued grant either a talent or generic point
each row of 200 creature exsangued grant a category point
percentage restored increase with talent level

- Blood Bound:
when you die, if there is more than x creature remaining
in your crops pool, they will be consumed (form the top creature available)
restoring a percentage of your heal and blood.

x decrease with talent level while percentage increase.

sadism talent tree:

-tribute: pay a percentage of your max health to inflict to the target damage based on his max health.

-stupeffy: pay a percentage of your max health to cause an aoe that hav a chance to inflict fear to all creature in it plus minorely damaging them.

-blood river: pay a percentage of your max blood to cause a large blight aoe that heal you of a percentage of the damage inflicted with it.

Adds two new shadowy Celestial classes.
First is the Moon Paladin, who fight using two weapons and the two moons.
Second is the Starslinger, who imbues their shots with the power of the stars.
Also two new subraces that start in the Far East, regardless of class.
Mardrop Humans and Star Elves.

Now with a new starting zone: Save the Sunwall crops from a worm infestation.
New second starting zone: The Tenebrous Glades.
Travel to the barely made training camp of Midnight via a jumpgate on the west side of the Gates of Morning, then head southwest.
The shadows summoned to conceal the camp have become restless and dangerous. Quiet them down and investigate what is working them up.

Currently there are nine new categories.
Celestial/Night: A utility based generic category that generates negative celestial energies.
Celestial/Lunar Combat: Powerful offensive talents invoking the power of the moons.
Celestial/Guidance: Some defensive and one offensive talents for Moon Paladin.
Celestial/Shooting Stars: Combines star magic with ranged weapons.
Celestial/Deep Space: Some high level celestial magic for Starslinger.
Celestial/Sigils: Shape negative celestial energies into traps.
Celestial/Glory: High level light magic for Sun Paladins and Anorithil.

Vile Tactics
Vile Aim: Aim for the enemies eyes, doing damage and having a chance to blind.
Shadowsense: See through the shadows, making stealth a bit easier to use!
Shadow Net: Throw out a net of shadows, doing damage and slowing.
Unveil: Some think they are the masters of the dark. Show them who's boss! Reveals enemies in the AoE, doing double damage to them in the process.

Enveil: Hide in the shadows.
Veiled Strike: Shadowstrike!
Twist the Veil: Tiny range phase door that turns you entirely invisible for one turn, and resets the cooldown on Enveil.

Shadow Alliance: Standing near your shadows gives a boost to your stealth power.
Dark Exchange: Your mana fuels your mental strength, and your hatred fuels your magical might.
Unseen Heckler: Mock your foes from the shadows!
Shroud of Shadows: Embrace the darkness, gaining increased powers at the cost of draining away your mana.

v1.3 ~ A Deeper Dark

Minor(Except not really) changes
-Veiled Strikes is now Veiled Strike. The plural was weird.
(v1.35 ~ Capitalization is important)-changed combat.lua to Combat.lua, hopefully fixing the Veiled Strike problems once and for all.

Bug fixes
-Vile Aim now properly takes a turn.
-Unveil now properly takes a turn.

Balance changes
-Cunning/Dark Veil buffed from 1.0 mastery to 1.3(The shadowstrike/veiled strike bug forced me to keep it at 1.0 to sync the numbers. Not anymore!)
-Cursed/Gloom nerfed from 1.3 mastery to 1.2
-Cursed/Shadows nerfed from 1.3 mastery to 1.2
-Cursed/Cursed Aura added(locked) at 1.2 mastery. Hopefully this means that if you unlock Cursed Aura via the event, it'll unlock with 1.2 mastery.

Experimental changes(Looking for feedback on these!)
-Vile Aim reverted back to range 3, to match Veiled Strike's range. I'm not 100% sure on this, admittedly.
-Mana regen buffed from 0.5 to 2.5
-Mana rating nerfed from 5 to 4.

Uncast spells to produce nature based magical effects.
Its an agile nature mage, but can be played as a fighter/mage hybrid, or as a summoner hybrid.
Uses staves, alchemist gems and equilibrium.
Werebeast Class:
Werebeast fits somewhere between Cursed and Wyrmic, with a touch of Rogue thrown in.
Flavour is you have been cursed by nature's hate at those who harm it.
Can be played with conventional weapons or dual mindstars, stealthy or heavy.
Uses both Hate and Equilibrium.
Woodsman Class:
Archery, Summoning and Traps.
Use whatever you need to survive.
Summoner:
A full rework is available.
Allows you to command your critters to attack or defend.
Wyrmic:
A few talents improved and many new categories.
General:
Loads of nature based artifacts.
A few of new inscriptions.
Oozemancer can get the Wild-gift/Symbiant category.

    Commentary: Superficially similar to the "Resilience" talent for Summoners, but with a different passive benefit calculation. Since Mesmers cannot really wear any armor and have low health, they primarily survive by avoiding damage and by having their illusions take damage for them. As a result, this talent, which buffs illusion health by 5-25%, may actually be closer to "Shielding", which buffs damage shields by 25-60%.

    Commentary: Mesmers primarily deal arcane, light and physical damage. The scaling (3% per talent level) falls between "Hymn of Shadows" (5-25% over five levels) and "Wildfire" (2% per talent level).

    When you deactivate this signet (which takes no time) it blinds all foes (power 32) within radius 4 for 3 turns.

    The effects will increase with your Strength.

    Commentary: This "boon duration and synergy" effect has no general equivalent in ToME. There are talents that increase the durations of particular effects (e.g., only damage shields or only regenerations). This Signet increases all beneficial effects that last more than one turn. This has a pleasant synergy with default Mesmer staff powers, but the clever player will find other fruitful combinations (e.g., buffs from inscriptions or charms, etc.).

    The effects will increase with your Strength.

    Commentary: The passive speed benefit follows "Celerity" (but does not include free item set switching). The burst speed benefit is half as strong as "Lightning Speed". Mobility is critical for Mesmers, and this is the only Mesmer power that increases raw movement speed.

    When you deactivate (which takes no time) this signet it creates an ethereal burst, healing you for 23. In addition, the burst resets the cooldowns on the Mirror Blade, Phantasmal Berserker, Phase Retreat, and Phantasmal Warlock talents.

    The effects will increase with your Strength.

    Commentary: This ability helps Mesmers when they need it most: in the middle of a tough battle that requires multiple illusions. When the illusions are gone, the deactivation power resets some of the cooldowns needed to summon more. The passive healing rate scaling (3.0 per illusion per talent level every 3 turns) loosely follows "Fast Metabolism" (about 3.0 per talent level every turn), assuming you can keep three illusions alive.

    Description: Conjures a spatial disturbance beam that can hit multiple foes. The damage increases with your Strength and your distance to the target. The critical chance is based on your physical crit rate. After the attack the mesmir steps back one square away from the target.

    Range 7: 167.72 physical damage
    Range 6: 149.09 physical damage
    Range 5: 130.45 physical damage
    Range 4: 111.81 physical damage
    Range 3: 93.18 physical damage

    In addition, weapon "on melee hit" effects can trigger.

    Commentary: This is one of three staple Mesmer powers. It reinforces a focus on long-range attacks and mobility. The cooldown and damage follow "Lightning", but the damage total is based on distance instead of being based on chance.

    Description: Bounces an illusionary greatsword between foes and allies. The sword applies random beneficial effects to allies and harmful conditions to foes. After the attack the Mesmer steps back one square away from the target.

    Base damage to foes: 117.29 physical damage. The damage will increase with Strength and the critical chance is based on your physical crit rate. In addition, weapon "on melee hit" effects can trigger.
    Extra effect to foes: Weakened for three turns (power 33).
    Effect to allies: Power Overload (+10% to all damage per application, max 50%) for 10 turns.

    The bolt can bounce to a creature within range 6 of the last target up to 4 times. No creature will be struck twice by the same bolt.

    In addition, an illusionary clone is created adjacent to your current location. The illusionary clone has 34% of your health (plus a 17% bonus from signets), deals 6% of your damage, never moves, and knows the talents Winds of Chaos and Spatial Surge at the same levels you do. On death, the illusion heals you for 33. Newly-created illusions are invulnerable for one turn. Illusions disappear after five turns without an enemy target. It serves largely to distract foes.

    Commentary: The damage scaling follows "Flameshock". This does not stun but does have a lower cooldown and creates an illusion.

Each foe within a radius 2 of the target is struck for 128.17 physical damage and has up to 3 beneficial temporary effect(s) or sustained talent(s) removed. In addition, weapon "on melee hit" effects can occur. After the attack the Mesmer steps back one square away from the target. The damage increases with Strength and the critical chance is based on your physical crit rate.

    Commentary: The damage scaling follows "Fireflash", but the radius here is smaller and the cooldown is higher. Removing beneficial effects from foes is thematic to the Mesmer.

    Description: Summons an illusionary clone of you in an empty square in range 8. After the attack the mesmer steps one square away from the target.

    The illusionary clone has 20% of your health (plus a 17% bonus from signets), deals 70% of your damage, never moves, and knows the talents Combat Accuracy and Illusionary Death Dance at this level. On death, the illusion heals you for 33. Newly-created illusions are invulnerable for one turn. Illusions disappear after five turns without an enemy target. Illusionary Death Dance can be used every other turn: the illusion attacks all foes in radius 2 for 140% of weapon damage and cripples them, reducing their speeds by 33% for one turn.

    Commentary: Phantasms have more health and deal more damage than normal illusionary clones. Illusionary Death Dance follows "Death Dance" but with radius 2 (recall: illusions cannot move) and an additional cripple. This is the only Memser talent that uses attacks to inflict direct weapon damage; the illusion can miss.

    Description: Push back all foes in front of you with waves of magical energy. Sends out three consecutive blast waves in a 1 radius cone to foes. Each wave separately deals 3.56 physical damage, applies weapon "on hit" effects, and knocks victims back by two squares. The blast waves usually hit foes more then once, depending on the radius and the knockback effect.

    After the attack the mesmer steps back one square away from the target.

    The damage will scale with your Strength.

    Commentary: The radius and damage loosely follow "Repulsion Blast", but with a 50% damage increase (instead of Paradox scaling) and 700% cooldown increase. This is typically a last-ditch talent for Mesmers who are out of mobility talents.

    Description: Bounces an orb of kinetic energy between foes and allies that applies random beneficial effects to allies and harmful conditions to foes.

    Damage to foes: 42.05 physical damage, plus one of:
    either 128.45 illusion arcane damage over 4 turns
    or 126.14 illusion light damage over 4 turns.
    In addition, weapon "on melee hit" effects can trigger.

    If illusion damage over time would be applied to a victim already suffering from that type of ongoing illusion, the resonance causes the entire previous illusion damage to be dealt at once before the new illusion effect is applied.

    Effect to allies: Mesmeric Overload (+10% to all damage per application, max 50%) for 5 turns.

This is provides a crucial but chancy additional escape power for Mesmers, and at higher levels can also be used for profitable back-and-forth kiting.

A canny Mesmer might use a few greatsword powers until those are on cooldown and foes are in range, and then dodge-and-switch to staff powers. Using staff powers gives some greatsword powers time to complete their cooldowns, so on the next dodge-and-switch the cycle repeats. Mesmers care significantly about swapping weapon sets, but unlike Temporal Wardens they cannot swap for free at will. Instead, they must either use Mesmeric Dodge or spend a turn manually swapping.

Mind Wrack is harder to aim, requires and destroys illusions, and does not inflict control effects without additional talent points spent elsewhere. It does have the potential to hit multiple targets, however, and foes surrounded by multiple illusions can be hit multiple times.
