So, really stoked on the game, and decided I'd like to not just donate but to buy the base game and the expansions as well. If I'm going to do it,I'd like to also get the "Donor" status for custom tiles and vault slots.

Will it be the same whether I purchase the stuff here, or on steam? I rarely use steam, and couldn't care less about their trading cards, but if it would help Darkgod to have more sales there, I'm happy to do it. If, however, he makes more $$ from direct donations here, it would make little sense to purchase via steam.
