Class: Spellweaver 1.7.4

Adds the Spellweaver, a Mage subclass who creates custom spells with Spellweaving components.
For example, a Spellweaver might make a spell using the Fire element, the Beam shape, and the Damage Over Time effect to make a simple Damage over Time Fire Beam. However, spells can get vastly more complicated, with things like a "Grand Checkerboard of Eclipsing and Feverish Wallweaving and Prismatic and Radiat Lingering Harm" if you want to be way over the top.
Additionally, Spellweavers can make shielding and teleportation spells with components too, although all three types of spells use the same slots.
Spellweavers who are Humans, Elves, Dwarves or Undeads will also begin in Wovenhome in the East and have a special dungeon to start the game.

Many in Maj'Eyal have heard of "demons", sadistic creatures who appear seemingly from nowhere, leaving a trail of suffering and destruction whereever they go. Their Fearscape floats far above the skies, watching and waiting, but not idly; their agents scout the land, their legions build up their forces, and their scholars develop new spells and strategies. As the barrier between our worlds begins to crack under their scrutiny, helpless Eyalites have begun to disappear, whisked up to serve as their slaves and playthings. They imbue these victims with magical powers to better survive the ensuing stresses - can you use your new-found abilities to escape the legions of Mal'Rok?

Features:

  • Start with a new class, the Doombringer! These avatars of demonic destruction charge into battle with massive two-handed weapons, cutting swaths of firey devastation through hordes of opponents. Armed with flame magic and demonic strength, they delight in fighting against overwhelming odds, softening up the crowd with waves of fire, then feeding on the flames and suffering of their surroundings to stay alive while quickly reducing any group to a pile of ash and gore.
  • Unlock a new class, the Demonologist, with an all-new item enhancement mechanic! Bearing a shield and the magic of the Spellblaze itself, these melee-fighting casters can grow demonic seeds from their fallen enemies. Imbue these seeds onto your items to gain a wide array of new talents and passive benefits, and summon the demons within them to fight on your side! Ever looked at a gigantic demon-cursed minotaur and wished it was on your side for once? Well, now you CAN summon one to pound your foes into paste while you cast devastating spells from afar, or call forth a squad of Fire Imps to pelt your enemies to death while they exhaust themselves on your impenetrable defenses! Demons have persistent health, making them a little more precious than disposable necromancer skeletons or summoner beasts, but can be revived from death nonetheless.
  • Two new zones, with all-new art, foes, and bosses! You've seen the plains of the Fearscape before, now see the lairs and headquarters of the demons themselves!
  • Over 10,000 words of written lore to find! The demons were once an enlightened, peaceful race, hailing from a distant planet known as Mal'Rok; learn what drove them to plot Eyal's eternal torture! Discover monuments to each of the demonic species and noteworthy individuals, showing the place of honor each has among them! Get a glimpse into the culture and daily lives of these sadistic invaders and their brainwashed thralls!
  • Unlock a new race, Doomelves: Shalore who've taken to the demonic alterations especially well, corrupting their typical abilities into a darker form. Blink away to safety, transform into a shadowy dúathedlen to hide in the shadows or prey on your foes with blasts of darkness, use your new resilience to soak up status effects and critical hits, and assault your enemies' minds to leave them unsteady in combat!
  • Between the aforementioned classes and Doomelves, a whopping 75 new talents!

Official Expansion!

One year has passed since the one the Orcs call the "Scourge from the West" came and single-handedly crushed the Orc Prides of Grushnak, Vor, Gorbat, and Rak'Shor.  The Allied Kingdoms, now linked by farportal to their distant, long-lost Sunwall allies, have helped them conquer most of Var'Eyal.  The few remnants of the ravaged Prides are caged...  but one Pride remains.  Kruk Pride, isolated on an island, is the last orcish settlement that stands; they, too, face their impending doom.  The Sunwall has blockaded the only exit point from the island, and now, the technologically advanced civilization of Steam Giants have come down from the mountains to take their homeland with machines and weaponry unlike anything else on Eyal.  Kruk Pride has reverse-engineered their technology before; their only hope is to do it again and rise up against the Pride's foes.

Not all adventurers seek fortune, not all that defend the world have good deeds in mind.
Lately the number of sightings of horrors have grown tremendously. People wander off the beaten paths only to be found years later, horribly mutated and partly insane, if they are found at all. It is becoming evident something is stirring deep below Maj'Eyal.
That something is you.

Forbidden Cults is a big expansion for Tales of Maj'Eyal to let you explore the horrors that lurk beneath the surface, to delve in long lost knowledge and lore and as usual to die a lot!


Forbidden Cults makes two new classes available to play:

  • Writhing One: Give in to the corrupting forces and turn yourself gradually into an horror, summon horrors to do your bidding, shed your skin and melt your face to assault your foes. With your arm already turned into a tentacle, what creature can stop you?
  • Cultist of Entropy: Using its insanity and control of entropic forces to unravel the normal laws of physic this caster class can turn healing into attacks and call upon the forces of the void to reduce its foes to dust.

Both those classes use a new resource called Insanity that gradually makes you both more chaotic and powerful as it fills up.


Forbidden Cults makes two new races available to play:

  • Drem: A corrupt subrace of dwarves, that somehow managed to keep a shred of sanity to not fully devolve into mindless horrors. They can enter a frenzy and even learn to summon horrors.
  • Krog: Ogres transformed by the very thing that should kill them. Their powerful attacks can stun their foes and they are so strong they can dual wield any one handed weapons.


Forbidden Cults adds many new zones for you to explore and die in:

  • Kroshkkur: An ancient Sher'tul Fortress laying half in ruins that serves as a focal point, and home, for all kinds of creatures seeking lost knowledge.
  • The Maggot: A huge living corrupted worm about to destroy Kroshkkur! Teleport inside and save your sanctuary of horrors!
  • The Godfeaster: Deep undergroud the ground shakes as ... -- redacted by corrupt forces --
  • The Scourge Pits: On the south of the Iron Throne lays a fool pit of ... -- redacted by corrupt forces --
  • Forbidden Tomes: Find special artifact books of ancient lore. But, read at your own peril, for the story they tell may very well suck you in... quite literally.
    Maybe you will even find The One That Writes...
  • Occult Egress: A strange, extremely old, contraption of unknown origin. It seems to require some kind of code sequence to activate. Maybe you will find some during your adventures?
  • The Entropic Void: So you think you are strong? Powerful? Invulnerable? In the end, entropy always wins, as you will learn...

When you use a Spellwoven spell that uses the Cold, Lightning, or Wind and Rain elements, the Hailstorm increases in power, increasing its damage by 0.0% of the damage of that spell (at most 0 per turn). This power decreases by 5% each turn down to the base values. When you cast a Spellwoven spell not including these elements, you unleash the power of the Hailstorm, resetting its damage and immediately dealing 67% of its stored damage with a chance to freeze enemies to the ground or daze them for 3 turns. These chances are based on the Wind and Rain talent, but increase with the power of the Hailstorm, and Stun and Pin resist are halved to resist these effects.
    Hailstorm damage will not remove dazes.

    Description: Any sailor knows that the seas of Eyal carry hurricanes and storms that can swallow ships and that even the strongest mage couldn't control. You know that the most powerful storms cannot be controlled, merely unleashed.
    Your Cold and Lightning resistance penetration is increased by 0.0%. Gain the Wind and Rain element, which deals 50 damage (from the Wind and Rain talent), divided equally among Cold and Lightning and multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier. Wind and Rain damage has a -10% chance (multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier) to surround targets with an Icestorm, halving their Pinning and Stun resistance and dealing 2 damage, equally divided between Cold and Lightning to every enemy around them in radius 3 for 4 turns. Icestorm damage does not break dazes. The chance of inflicting icestorm reduces by 15% for each icestorm present on the level.
    Element damage and Icestorm damage increase with Spellpower.
    Additionally, at raw talent level 3, gain Shield Bonus: Cleansing Rain (Gain regeneration as long as the shield is active).
    At raw talent level 5, gain Teleport Mode: Lightning Speed (Instead of teleporting, gain a significant amount of movespeed).

    Physical gains a 30% chance to Wound targets, reducing their healing recieved by 16%, for 4 turns.
    Fire deals only 40% initial damage, but deals an additional 80% of base damage (40 damage) as Fire damage over four turns.
    All damage and effect chances are multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier.

When you hit a Spellwoven Wounded target with a non-Physical element Spellwoven spell, extend that wound by 1 turn. Whenever you hit a target affected by Molten Drain with a non-Molten element Spellwoven spell, drain 0 life from the target as draining Molten damage.
    Additionally, as a passive bonus, Spellwoven burn damage is increased by 0%, and the healing reduction of wounds is increased to 16%.

    Description: You don't just use Fire or Physical magic, you draw power from the depths of Eyal itself. The magma deep down gives life and death, and so can you.
    Your Fire and Physical resistance penetration is increased by 0.0%. Gain the Molten element, which deals 50 damage (from the Molten talent), divided equally among Fire and Physical. Molten damage also has a -14% chance to scorch the ground, creating magma tiles for 4 turns. Enemies on those tiles take 1 Fire damage and 1 Physical damage each turn and are afflicted with Molten Drain for 1 turn, redirecting -14% of direct heals that target receives to you. Molten tile damage increases with Spellpower.
    All damage and effect chances are multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier.
    Element damage and molten tile damage increase with Spellpower.
    Additionally, at raw talent level 3, gain Shield Mode: Slag Shield (The shield becomes a sustained shield that regenerates its power every turn).
    At raw talent level 5, gain Teleport Mode: Molten Path (Teleport in a straight line through enemies and walls until you hit an empty space, ignoring and removing all freezes and stuns).

    Description: Learn how to cast spells with Acid and Blight. These spells will deal base 50 damage with the following extra effects:
    Acid also gains a 45% chance to disarm enemies for 3 turns as their weapons are corroded.
    Blight gains a 50% chance to disease enemies, reducing their strength, constitution, or dexterity by 4 for 5 turns. These diseases stack, and diseases that are not currently in use will be prioritized.
    All damage and effect chances are multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier.

    Description: You've learned how to use the energy of pestilence and acid in your other spells, allowing you to spread their power farther.
    When you cast a Spellwoven Spell, you gain a 0% chance to inflict one of the diseases from the Ruin talent to any enemies in the area. This chance is multiplied by the Spellweave Multiplier modifier of the shape, instead of the standard modifier. The power is currently 4, the same as the power of the Ruin talent, multiplied by the Spellweave Multiplier of the inflicting spell. Additionally, if the target of the Spell is disarmed, the chance is multiplied by 2.5.
    Targets with Spellwoven diseases take an additional 0.0% damage for each disease on them (maxing at three diseases). This damage bonus per disease is increased to 0.0% if the damage is not Blight or Acid damage.
    Acidic Pestilence

    Description: Acid and Blight hold the power to wear anything down. This is inevitable. However, you understand that you can use this power to prevent harm as well as to destroy.
    Your Acid and Blight resistance penetration is increased by 0.0%. Gain the Ruin element, which deals 50 damage (from the Ruin talent), divided equally among Acid and Blight and multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier. Ruin damage also gains a -6% chance (multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier) to afflict targets with Ruinous Exhaustion, reducing all of their damage by -3%, their all damage penetration by 0%, their Attack, Mental, and Spell powers by 0, and their accuracy by 0 for 4 turns.
    Element damage, powers reduction, accuracy, and damage penetration reduction increases with Spellpower.
    Additionally, at raw talent level 3, gain Shield Bonus: Corroding Shield (Attackers damage is reduced stackingly each time you are attacked).
    At raw talent level 5, gain Teleport Mode: Blightgate (Teleport enemies near your destination to your starting point).

    Description: Learn how to cast spells with Arcane and Temporal. These spells will deal base 50 damage with the following extra effects:
    Arcane also drains arcane resources, draining 50 mana, 25 vim, and 12 positive and negative energies, and dealing the greatest of 50% of the drained mana, 100% of the drained vim, and 200% of the drained negative energy as arcane damage.
    Temporal gains a 45% chance to slow enemies, reducing their global speeds by 35% and their projectile's speed by 50% for 4 turns.
    All damage and effect chances are multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier.
    Element damage and manaburning increase with Spellpower.

    Description: Teleportation is a simple process once you understand the nature of the magical threads that make up the world.
    You gain the Teleport Spell Crafting spell. Teleportation spells you create have a base 8 range, multiplied by Spellweave Multiplier. Unlike the uncontrolled teleportation practiced by Archmages, you will always be able to control where you are targeting, but you still have a 50% chance to fail when attempting to teleport to places you cannot see (chance affected by the Threaded Understanding talent). Spells that have precision will be divided by Spellweave Multipler and modified by your precision modifier, 100%, which is improved by the Threaddance talent.
