Exponential Leveling 1.5.5

Exponential Leveling is an addon that changes the amount of points (stats, class, ..) and optionally resources (hp/stamina/mana/regen..) you gain upon EACH level up.
It is meant to make Madness difficulty possible without cheating or hacking of any kind. The game isn't really meant to be beaten on Madness-Roguelike in a legit way, which is why trainers/cheats/savescams exist. There have been only a couple of winners that might be real and legit, and they are Adventure class with no video proof.

Being fully configurable, it can also be used to make the game easier as you wish to.

THIS DOES NOT DISABLE IN-GAME AND STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS.

How to use this addon:

    - Download and install, of course. Check if the addon is ACTIVATED. If you have another addon that superload/overload player.lua, it might conflict.
    - Start a New Game.
    - Under Options > Gameplay, you can enable or disable the addon. This will work from the next levelup. It cannot be used retroactively.
    - You can also change mode of operating (Default is balanced) and optional modes of operation (Also increase resources, life, etc on levelup) or be left as is.

Operating Modes:
    - Balanced -> Gives extra points in a fair way depending on your difficulty (Nightmare, Insane and Madness)
    - Extra Points -> Gives many more points than vanilla in any difficulty
    - Cheatish -> Gives way more points than you'll ever need
    - Only Life -> Does NOT change how many points you gain on levelup, but provide some extra MAX HP on levelup. How much per level can be configured under the options.

Optional Modes (These work alongside Operating Modes):
    - None -> Nothing else than what chosen under Operating Modes
    - All Resources -> Increase stamina, mana, hate, vim, etc (MAX and regen) upon levelup. How much per level can be configured under the options.
    - MAX HP -> Increase only MAX HP and not all resources upon levelup. How much per level can be configured under the options. Stacks with Only Life if you want to.

All resources ALSO gives, by a small amount, resources regeneration like: mana, stamina, vim, positive/negative, hate (per kill, not passively generated), psi and reduces equilibrium (by a small amount) every turn even in combat.

Phoenix Knight: Powerful warriors who blast their foes with solar fire while calling healing light upon their allies. Their solar fire attacks will strike as either fire or light damage, whichever will hit their target the hardest, and their potent healing and cleansing abilities make them tough opponents to bring down.

Mind Knight: Psionic warriors who strengthen their mental abilities by tapping into their inner magic. Adept at telekinesis, telepathy, and teleportation, they are mobile scouts who can quickly get a lay of the land and sow chaos among their foes with physical and mental debilitations, or even outright compulsions.

Storm Knight: Swift skirmishers who rely on extreme mobility and powerful lightning magic to strike their foes down and avoid reprisals. Extremely fast and difficult to pin down, they can cast entire enemy units into disarray with their wealth of area attacks. All mage knights can cast while they fight, but experienced storm knights are also able to fight while they move.

Earth Knight: The heaviest of infantry, earth knights hammer their foes with physical and natural forces while shielding themselves with the power of the earth. Highly resilient in the face of any attack, earth knights provide a slow and steady offense supported by powerful gemstone shields and the endurance of a living mountain.

Sea Knight: Healers first, fighters second, battle mages a somewhat distant third, while sea knights lack the raw offensive power of other mage knights, they make up for it with amazing personal defense and recovery abilities. And though their attacks may be individually weak, like the sea itself, they are able to wear down even the strongest defenses eventually, eroding their opponents away with gradually strengthening spells, making them terrors in a battle of attrition.

Mana Knight: Experimenting pioneers who do amazing things with raw magical energy. They have the most conventional magical training of the mage knights, even if they sometimes put it to unconventional use. Their arcane attacks can overwhelm the powers of other spellcasters, and while they lack the scope of power of full-fledged archmages, they are masters of the fundamentals of the various arcane schools.

Allows you to choose which escorts you will encounter at the start of the game.
You may change the future encounters in the game menu (Esc).

There is an option to choose a random escort in case you just wanted to guarantee some unlocks before continuing with the base game's behavior.

Note: You're only supposed to be able to choose the lost tinker once. (Must have the Embers of Rage DLC and unlocked by playing in the Orcs campaign)
Note: Unfortunately the only time that addons can get the possible escort types is after the random escort quest is assigned.
This means escorts added by other addons will not be available for selection, but will still be possible to find using the random selection.

        Description: You raise a gemstone shield around the target, granting it a damage shield with a value of 84 for 4 turns. Shielding can crit.

        For each raw talent level you gain a new type of gemstone shield. Each time you cast a shield, the gemstone applied will be randomly determined from among your known shields. Each shield has its own individual chance to be triggered by Eldritch Combat, rather than this talent itself triggering directly (though they all set this talent on cooldown, so they can't be up simultaneously), but they cannot be activated manually until raw talent level 3. Each shield has a primary effect while the shield lasts and a secondary effect that triggers if the shield is broken by damage.

        At raw talent level one, you gain access to the crystal shield, which improves its value by 7%, and when it breaks it discharges outward violently, potentially stunning all adjacent enemies for 1 turns. You also gain access to the sapphire shield, which rejuvenates 2% of its value each turn, and when it breaks reduces your Gemstone Shield cooldown by 1.

        At raw talent level two, you gain access to the ruby shield, which backlashes for 9 fire damage every time it loses value, and explodes when it breaks to deal 43 fire damage in a radius of 1. You also gain access to the amethyst shield, which provides 7% evasion and 9 defense while it lasts, and when it breaks, it attempts to teleport the attacker who broke it between 2 and 7 tiles away.

        At raw talent level three, this spell no longer takes time to cast, and you can activate individual gemstone shields manually. The individual shields do still take a turn to use though.

        At raw talent level four, you gain access to the emerald shield, which reduces any damage the shield blocks by 5, and grants 7% resist all for one turn when it breaks. You also gain access to the pearl shield, which outright ignores instances of damage below 13, and fully negates the attack that breaks it.

        At raw talent level five, you gain access to the opal shield, which converts 7% of damage absorbed into healing, and on breaking boosts your current and maximum life by 85 for 2 turns. You also gain access to the diamond shield, which reflects 7% of the damage it absorbs, and when broken, reciprocates any damage that gets through onto the attacker.

        The shielding will increase with your Spellpower.

        This spell can be triggered by Eldritch Combat.

        Description: Only great forces can erode the waiting earth. Activating this talent takes no time and has no cost, but doing so depletes a full turn of energy, regardless of your current speeds. You stand strong against your foes, awaiting your opportunity. For one turn, you get 9% resist all, 5% resist all cap, and 13% new effect reduction. However, even the earth can be eventually worn away - you also reduce all healing by 18%.

        At raw talent level 2, you also recover 0 stamina, and 0 mana.

        At raw talent level 3, all of your beneficial effects have their durations increased by 1.

        At raw talent level 4, all of your detrimental effects have their durations lowered by 1.

        At raw talent level 5, all talents cool down by an additional turn.

        You may only activate this talent when enemies are in sight, unless you are blind (in which case it's assumed enemies are around even if you can't see them).

        This talent can be triggered by Eldritch Combat. When it is, it does not drain a turn of energy.

        Once you learn this talent, any time you pass a turn while enemies are in sight, you will activate this talent (you'll only spend the turn once).

This spell is resisted by Defense rather than Spell Resist (since the target has to dodge out of the way of the earth rising up to entomb it), and the cross-tier effect leaves the target off-balance rather than spellshocked. You may affect up to 0 total points worth of targets. Critters cost 1 point, Normals 4, Elites 9, Rares 16, Bosses 25, and Elite Bosses 36. Points affected can crit.

        The duration of the entombment will not count down in any turn you use Tectonic Patience.

        This talent can be triggered by Eldritch Combat, in which case targets will be chosen at random from among enemies in range.

        Description: Focusing your power, you leap to a chosen square in a range of 5. If your chosen square is occupied, you land in a random square adjacent to the target and attack it, dealing 36% weapon damage. Otherwise, if there are any enemies adjacent to your target square, you attack one at random. If the target dies as a result of this attack, this talent immediately cools down.

        If you are using a two-handed weapon, your damage will be further increased by 0%.

        With a weapon and shield, you follow up with a powerful bash, stunning the target.

        With a single weapon (or unarmed), you execute a confounding series of martial maneuvers, confusing the target.

        With dual weapons, you execute a rapid series of maneuvers that leaves the target unable to keep up, slowing it by 50%.

        If this attack triggers Eldritch Combat, it will always trigger a Wave attack, when that spell is available.

        Description: You channel magical energy through your weapons while this talent is sustained, adding 12 damage to all attacks of the energy type appropriate to your mage knight offensive spells. This number varies based on fighting style used (note that it already includes any modifiers for your current weapon!) and scales with Spellpower.

        In addition, your first successful melee attack each turn grants a 25% chance (based on your current weapon) to trigger one of various Mage Knight talents instead of dealing the bonus Arcane damage. This quarters the cooldown of the talent, and can only happen once per turn. Talents triggered in this way do not cost Stamina; other resource costs still apply. Triggered talents are determined randomly, but with prioritization based on how useful they are in the moment (spells that restore life are more likely to trigger when low on life, spells that provide buffs are more likely to trigger when you aren't heavily buffed, etc). Spells of higher talent level are generally prioritized over those of lower level.

        If you are wielding a two-handed weapon, passive damage is doubled, and triggered talents have their power increased by 50%.

        If you are using a shield, passive damage is increased by 50%. Trigger chance is increased by 20% and passive damage further doubled against foes with the Counterstrike effect. A triggered talent is also followed up with a shield bash, while an attack that fails to trigger Eldritch Combat has an equal chance of instead triggering the Block talent. Defensive talents have priority increased while wielding a shield.

        If you are using two weapons, they may both be one-handed weapons. Each weapon deals passive damage and your first successful melee attack each turn checks twice to see if it triggers a talent.

        If you are using a single one-handed weapon (or unarmed), passive damage is increased by 50%, the base chance of triggering a talent increases by 15%, and if a talent triggers, it might take effect twice (using half the original trigger chance). The second trigger won't cost any further resources.

        Mage Knights generally favor martial weapons, but they are capable with simpler weapons as well. Each dagger wielded provides a 1% attack speed bonus per eight points of Dexterity. Fighting entirely unarmed provides a flat 20% attack speed bonus.

        Staves are designed for more normal spellcasting styles, so mage knights require more effort to channel their powers through them. Resultantly, Eldritch Combat (and other procs off of it) only receives 1/5 the normal staff accuracy bonus.

        Description: While active, your magical powers bolster your physical capabilities. You substitute Magic for Strength and Dexterity for purposes of weapon damage and equipment requirements, as well as for the Strength and Dexterity requirements of the Armor Mastery talents. Of course, if you have the physical aptitude to wield the weapon normally, that still helps to some degree; you add 10% of the normal Strength or Dexterity damage modifiers into your weapons as well; weapons that can use both Strength and Dexterity will convert the Strength modifier to a Dexterity modifier as well if your Dexterity is higher than your Strength. Your ability to augment your melee skills with magic works regardless of the weapon you wield; you get a 22% bonus damage with all melee weapons, including unarmed strikes. This doesn't stack with other mastery talents, and unlike most mastery talents does not include a physical power bonus (although see the Eldritch Aura talent).

        In addition, your ability to magically reinforce your body allows you to mitigate overwhelming forces, although this takes a lot of effort and your strength will fade rapidly when you do it, possibly even to the point of death. You reduce all damage received from other characters by potentially as much as 30%. However, the actual reduction is multiplied by both the percentage of your current effective life over your maximum effective life (which includes damage shields and negative life threshold), and the percentage of the damage over your current effective life. So this protects you best when you are at high health and facing high incoming damage - lesser attacks aren't worth the effort to mitigate, and as your strength fails so does your ability to exert that sort of effort. The calculation accumulates damage over the course of one turn, so multiple attacks all coming in the same turn will be reduced according to their combined total compared to your initial life. If the final percent reduction is below 20%, no reduction will occur at all.

        All damage mitigated by this effect is then returned as irresistible damage over the next 5 turns as your strength fades.

      This chest is an extension of old Sher'tul places of power. Any items dropped inside are transported to an other place, processed and destroyed to extract energy.
      The byproduct of this effect is the creation of gold, which is useless to process, so it is sent back to you.

      When you possess the chest all items you walk upon will automatically be put inside and transmogrified when you leave the level.
      Simply go to your inventory to move them out of the chest if you wish to keep them.
