First Blood or The Quest Of My Pace
start entry one.
it's somewhat strange... this game(?) is giving me more than one possibility to communicate outside of my head. great stuff! there is in-game chat, which is great. tried it once, got an answer... yay! there are the forum and steam discussions to read... i like to lurk rather than start new topics, though which is ok i guess. anyhow, here's something like a personal blog open to the public eye, ready to comment and i just started filling my first entry with some jumbled mess. but hey, that's ok too!
question to self: when do i find my pace?
i feel so rushed by this game. so much to try out. so many new things to digest. so much information to process. that's great! i like it. but, i'm also a little scared because... i don't want to burn out on this game soon! i want to stick with it. try to... at least... puh!
question to self: when do i stop playing this like diablo 3 or any kind of arpg?!
when i'm surrounded by enemies i fire up my shields and start attacking without reading. just click click click... bah! stupid me died AGAIN! this is NOT diablo!! LOL (btw, i'm playing cornack berzerker atm to learn my first lessons in tome - to draw some 'first blood'.)
cheers!
end entry one.

Record of a New Players Growth (RNG) to return!
Well I am back after a hiatus of a few years! And as such I have mostly forgotten how to play TOME, but as I am craving some Roguelike goodness (and masochistic punishment) I will be restarting all over again.
If any wish to watch me flail about I will be live streaming the game on Twitch (@ https://www.twitch.tv/geek_chef) and archiving the footage on youtube (Geek Chef Gaming)
Death to Fate
Been struggling to kill The Master for months on nightmare roguelike. Saw someone else's advice to try antimagic and I hatched a plan to punch The Master to death out of spite. Long story short I went for a crazy antimagic brawler and managed to punch him to death with a single hp remaining. I even had to turn into a parasite to keep punching. I died immediately after from the leftover minions (antimagic wore off and regen wore off) but despite that I feel accomplished. This was my highest character ever. Here's to making it to the Far East.
My character for proof :)

Died to carelessness
One should not play TOME while distracted. Is that an ominous-looking vault in a tier 3 zone? What could possibly go wrong with opening it?
- Do I have an escape ability? No?
- Will I come up with an escape plan when faced with 20+ snow giants? No?
- Will I pay attention to who can hit me and how much damage they can cause? No?
Time to start over!
Died to a vault with monster at +20 level
Learned a lesson today. A vault in a tier 1 dungeon may contain level 29 monsters.
