Even in an age of supposed prosperity, there are many who lose their lives in vain. Those who tend the wounded, returned home from battle or adventure, are highly skilled in the arts of healing, many using arcane techniques. But there are some who have seen too much. They have formed a brotherhood of those who have accepted the Dark Truth. Eyal has but one true God, and He demands sacrifices. The Dark Priest and his brethren tap into arcane energies to deliver the bad word unto all the people of Maj'Eyal. They manipulate darkness and life energy to convey their message of doom and despair. When that doesn't work, carrying a big stick helps, too.

Dark Priests use Magic and Cunning as their primary stats. They focus on Darkness and Arcane spells, and are proficient in staff combat, as well. They also have command of a unique kind of magic, Unhealing. Unhealing is negative healing and such functions differently than damage. It will not be affected by any type of damage mitigation and will be increased by the target's healing modifier.

Version 3.0: Compatible with ToME 1.5.0

This addon supports game play for character levels higher than 50, primarily for the infinite dungeon (I.D.). This implements a number of subtle changes, rescaling game mechanics and balance for character levels above 50 in the Maj'Eyal, Infinite, and Arena campaigns for ToME. The intent is to make it possible (though certainly not easy) to reach level 500 of the Infinite Dungeon. This is not a nerf or a buff to game difficulty per se, but, rather, an extension of the well-balanced game play from the Maj'Eyal campaign to higher levels.

Some talents and status effects have been adjusted to accommodate the higher character levels possible. You can see a summary of these by checking the "Infinite500" tab in Game Options.

Once a character enters the I.D., the level 50 cap is removed and normal stats-per-level progression is enabled from level 51 onward. The limit on how high primary stats may be trained is removed (limited by character level as normal) and dependent computed value limits are also appropriately increased. No additional Prodigies are gained automatically after level 50. (Note that additional category points and (rarely) Prodigies can be gained by completing I.D. challenges.) Talent mastery levels can be improved more than once, and talent levels are unlearnable as normal in the I.D.

NPC levels in the I.D. have been adjusted to be compatible with higher game difficulty settings.

Most monsters and bosses from the Maj'Eyal campaign are imported into the I.D. along with their respective unique drops.

Traps have been added back to the I.D.

Isolated shops can appear randomly in the I.D. There is guaranteed to be at least one shop on level 1, and they become more common for the first few levels, and then more rare with depth.

Random escorts may be randomly generated on each level in the I.D. unless a challenge has been started, until the normal number (9) have been attempted.

The lichform quest is completed in the I.D. with a new random drop instead of automatically being completed at the appropriate step. There is a new greater vault in the I.D. that affects this quest.

The Corruption/Hexes tree can be learned from a new random drop.

Most major events from the Maj'Eyal campaign are enabled in the I.D., and there is a new event that can award the cursed-aura tree.

Undead characters starting in the I.D. begin with an artefact cloak. This is similar to the Cloak of Deception, but its stats scale with character level and it can spawn randomly for other characters.

This addon incorporates some modified game mechanics:
The ability to shrug off critical hits has been changed. Instead of using the percent value to ignore crits completely, it reduces the crit multiplier by the same amount to a minimum of 100%.

Modified checkHit and checkHitOld functions are employed that allow for wider level differences between opponents (see http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=35229).
Saving throws have been modified slightly to make them more effective at reducing the duration of status effects you fail to save against. (See http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=36715 for details.)

A complete rework for Archer.

This add-on significantly shortens all plot-related dungeons:

- Dreadfell is now 5 levels.
- Reknor is now 3 levels.
- Grushnak is now 3 levels.
- The other Prides are now 2 levels.
- Eruan is now 2 levels.
- High Peak is now 5 levels.

This will make the game harder, due to less experience and loot. The loot from these dungeons was improved to compensate (i.e. lower tier items no longer generate). Recommended only for experienced players looking for a challenge or a faster game.

Adds the Highblade class, a very focused arcane blade-style class, using primarily cold and lightning magic, alongside wind. Contains several blatant references.

Removes the check from inscription code that causes all inscriptions to only auto-use when a saturation effect is not present. This does not effect the mechanic of saturation, and therefore setting them to auto-use in too many cases can cause high levels of saturation. Use sparingly.

A collection of small quality-of life tweaks for tinker-using characters in the Embers of Rage DLC. Notable changes:

• New tinker recipe Regeneration Salve.
• In the Create Tinker dialog, place initial focus in the recipes list for ease of keyboard navigation.
• Expand the descriptions of schematics in tinker stores and recipes in the Create Tinker dialog to include more useful information.
• For characters with both a transmogrification chest and an Automated Portable Extractor, the latter will automatically be used for items that yield ingredients when melted, and the former will be used for the rest for fortress energy (controlled by game options "Gameplay | Multiplexed transmogrification" and "Gameplay | Multiplexed transmogrification minimum tier").
• Schematics for tinkers you've already learned can optionally be listed in a different color in stores and in player inventory for easier distinction (controlled by game option "Gameplay | Highlight learned schematics in stores").

Presents a dialog when you attack or are attacked by an adventurers party or hostile ziguranth patrol on the world map, prompting you to either evade or fight.  The behavior of this dialog can be controlled by the "Adventurers party response strategy" options under Game Options in the <Esc> menu, allowing you to specify "always evade" or "never evade" as the default behavior.

Various enhancements to escort quest NPCs:
- Escorts now follow the player when not close to the portal.
- Escorts occasionally say useful things.
- Escorts heal 5% of their maximum health per turn.

- The Transcendent Fist is an unarmed Psionic warrior, using a gem in his TK slot to hit with flexible energy types.
- The Storm Warden is a melee-and-ranged skirmisher with magical mobility and support spells.

(BETA) Shield Hero is an Adventurer who starts with heavy armor and a shield. Not very exciting unless you were annoyed about not being able to equip your Adventurer's shield right away.
(BETA) Prototype Hero is an Adventurer who starts with 1.3 mastery in every category. Not very useful for players, but it might be interesting for addon writers to spitball new category combinations.

(INCOMPLETE) The Flux Marauder is a Paradox thug, stealing time from his enemies.

To be precise, this makes all dungeons in the game scale based on YOUR level, instead of a pre-set value.
This essentially makes the game free-form. Go for that Level 1 Dreadfell run!

(Note that bosses still have a minimum level. The Master for example will always be in the 20's at the minimum.)

One year has passed since the one the Orcs call the "Scourge from the West" came and single-handedly crushed the Orc Prides of Grushnak, Vor, Gorbat, and Rak'Shor.  The Allied Kingdoms, now linked by farportal to their distant, long-lost Sunwall allies, have helped them conquer most of Var'Eyal.  The few remnants of the ravaged Prides are caged...  but one Pride remains.  Kruk Pride, isolated on an island, is the last orcish settlement that stands; they, too, face their impending doom.  The Sunwall has blockaded the only exit point from the island, and now, the technologically advanced civilization of Steam Giants have come down from the mountains to take their homeland with machines and weaponry unlike anything else on Eyal.  Kruk Pride has reverse-engineered their technology before; their only hope is to do it again and rise up against the Pride's foes.

This is a continuation of jayseesee's original addon. It's my hope that the gems in this release are balanced, consistent across tiers, and useful to a variety of different characters.

Also hopefully all the Crystal's balance issues have been worked out: it should be an interesting tactical challenge to make best use of its unique mobility, find the right time to exploit its Runic Saturation status clear Stasis talent, and optimal self-imbued gemstone for each dungeon.

Carve two Bonelings from target foe's body, dealing Moderate Physical damage.

Bonelings are weak melee attackers. Whenever they land an attack on a foe, they spawn another Boneling, up to a maximum which scales with TL and Willpower.
Bonelings move slowly, are prone to kiting, and can only spread to tiles adjacent to themselves.

All Bonelings despawn together after a Minor to Moderate duration.

Splinter

Overload target Boneling with extra Vim, causing it to explode for High Physical damage in a small radius. The primary explosion can hurt friendlies.

Additionally, upon learning this talent, any Bonelings that die via any means explode for Minor Physical damage in a radius of 1. The secondary explosion does not hurt friendlies.

Collar Bone

Must target foe that is surrounded by at least 2 Bonelings.

All adjacent Bonelings sacrifice themselves to attach to target foe, reducing their damage dealt for 5 turns by a Moderate value.
The act causes the foe to Bleed for major damage for 5 turns.

Both values increase based on the number of sacrificed Bonelings.

Rough Ribbed

You have learnt to intwine yourself with your Bonelings.
Whenever a new Boneling is spawnt, you reduce the cooldown of Bone Carver by 1. (Or regain 1 Vim if it isn't cooling down.)
Whenever a Bonelings expires in Melee range of you, you heal for Minor Life.
At Talent Level 5, any Bonelings in melee range of yourself can absorb an incoming debuff, destroying themself in the process.

Adds a new game option "Short-circuit some early dungeons" to enable or disable the new b43 behavior of skipping the player directly to the bottom of tier-1 dungeons if you're strong enough. The option will appear under Game Options in the <Esc> menu.

To be honest, I've been hoping something similar would make it into the main game but it never did. Which I will forever be miffed by :).

There are alternatives (for both, the alchemist part and the escort part), check the comments, search the addons.

I keep it here for those few who might want to play an older version of the game or for coding reference.

A few things to make rng less random with regards to character build (because I really, really dislike it when a build is subject to randomness).

This includes and is limited to:
- no alchemist poaching,
- choose your own escort types.

It does make the game easier. Not in a significant way but use at risk to your own pride.

Formerly "known" as Succor and easement.

Makes the monsters of Eyal somewhat more talkative...and prone to insulting you. Featuring taunts from Gaslamp Games' roguelike Dungeons of Dredmor! Also now featuring the EXTENSIVE taunt collection from the iconic Dredmor mod, Death By A Thousand Taunts. This mod was created by Deeborm, and is only included with their approval. Three cheers for Deeborm! Relive your dredmor adventures in the world of Eyal.

You can also add your own taunts! To do this create a file named verbose_user_defined_taunts.cfg and place it in your settings folder where it can be friends with all the other .cfg files. Inside this file put:
verbose_user_defined_taunts = {"I'm a taunt! ", "Your taunt here! ", "Taunts everywhere, taunts everywhere "}
except with your taunts. Just make sure they're all comma separated and in quotation marks. Additionally, due to something weird in how the the speech is displayed a small bit of the final character can sometimes be cut off. Add a space before the closing quotation mark to head this off. After that save it and enable custom taunts from the settings menu in-game!

All taunts (base Dredmor taunts, Deeborm's extended dredmor taunts, and custom taunts) can be toggled from the in-game settings, in the Misc tab.

Reworks the Rogue class.

This addon adds in a Faerie, or Fey, race into ToME. This addon was originally created by Kaballah, but he hasn't been online in over a year.
Instead of letting it die (I mean, how could we not be able to play as a Faerie?) I decided to fork it over into a playable form.
I've taken it, modified it's values, and changed it's 4th talent.

The Fey are an incredibly quick and agile race, however they are incredibly fragile.
You will have to make use of their blinding speed to survive encounters.
If you find yourself in trouble, you can spray some Fey Dust onto nearby enemies while you escape.

Fey stats:
-2 Strength, -5 Constitution, +3 Dexterity, +3 Cunning, +6 Luck,
Life per level: 7

--The Fey's Dust, while pretty, turns out to not feel good when thrown into eyes

Dark Faeries are Faeries that have given up much of their natural agility and defense in exchange for bonus offensive potency.
They are extremely frail, even more so than their more agile counterparts, but make up for it with faster offense, higher damage, and many different tricks.
Despite all thoughts otherwise, they are still, mostly, a playful bunch to be around, if not a bit more painful in their method of invitation.

Dark Fey stats:
-3 Strength, -7 Constitution, +3 Dexterity, +3 Magic, +1 Cunning, +6 Luck,
Life per level: 5
Experience penalty: 5%

--The Dark Fey have given up some of their natural luckiness, but not all.

-Vision of the Shadows
--Active
--The Dark Faerie has lost it's ability to flee, and has been forced to find other methods of survival, in the form of dark magics.
--This talent shows all enemies within a moderate to large radius around yourself.
--Calls forth 3 shadows onto nearby enemies that are in sight.
--Shadows are extremely weak, but make for decent body-blockers.
--Vision Radius, Vision Duration, and Number of Shadow Targets increases with talent level.

-Feyd to Black
--Active
--Call forth the powers of darkness to overflow the battlefield, affecting all Actors in sight range.
--Increase all allies life by a percent of their Max Life. (Including yourself.)
--Decreases all foes life by a percent of their Max Life.
--Blind all foes, even those who cannot normally be blinded.
--This effect's power increases as your life decreases.
--This talent does not proc healing effects, and cannot lower enemies below 10% of their max health.

The addon you hope you never have to use.

If all goes well, you never have to touch it. Behind the scenes, BGA monitors the location of every NPC on the current map level.

• In cheat mode you can use CTRL-B to pull up a list of all NPCs with details about their locations. Cheat mode will stamp your character, but it can be used as a last resort to see if a quest-required boss has gone all-out missing or not.

• If an NPC goes outside the map borders or into the middle of a wall (and it isn't a ghost), BGA will notify you and allow you to relocate the offender to a random free tile somewhere else on the level so that you can reach it. The NPC will not be placed into a vault, but it may be in a secluded room you have to dig to reach. Some levels have rooms behind undiggable walls that aren't marked as vaults. At this point, there isn't much that can be done about those locations beyond using a teleport of some sort.

• If a summons is temporarily removed from the level via Time Skip, it remains in your party. If you leave the level before the summons returns, the connection to the summons is severed and it becomes a not-there party member. If you return to the previous level, the original summons will come back out of Time Skip, but it will now be a separate entity from the one that's in your party. The one on the level will sit there and then decay. The one in your party will not decay and will take up a summons slot from that point on, but will not be on any level you visit. BGA will remove the summons in the party slot if the connection is broken, clearing it for future summons.

• If an NPC spawns and is then killed in the same turn, it can sit on that tile 'dead'. If a creature—including yourself—walks over that tile, a clone will be made, possibly creating an impassable roadblock. Hitting CTRL-C will cycle through all tiles on the level and remove any clones it finds.

• Some rooms will spawn a large group of NPCs. If there are more NPCs than tiles, they will exist 'out of phase'. You can't see or target them and can walk through them as if they didn't exist, but party members may attack the tile they are on. If the NPC has an AOE effect on them, such as an Empire Wight's lighting, it may strike you. You may also hear any sounds associated with the NPC. BGA will 'rephase' the NPC once the square they are on is unoccupied. If the tile and NPC are in sight, you will get the message, '[Name] steps out from hiding.' This may result in an unexpected enemy or two showing up in packed rooms once available space is made.

• Log will flush after special actions are taken so that cut/paste is available immediately.

• Checks for invalid Dark Fey Clones (StarKeep's Faerie Race addon)

• This addon cannot be used to cheat and will not reveal any details about NPCs under normal play circumstances. If an NPC needs to be relocated, you will be presented with its current location and why the addon determined that there was a problem, but the new location is not revealed.***

Massively spikes Rare counts as the game progresses, and even adds in Randbosses in the late game.

As of 1.4.2, the player can fully control the spawn rate of Rare and Randboss class enemies to suit their gameplay style.

Improves the default sort order of items in the player's inventory.

Adds the undead abomination race.

Abominations are the hideous result of callous necromancers fusing several dead bodies or loose appendages into one single being. They can augment themselves by assimilating more body parts to their being, even in the heat of battle. Abominations may grow considerably in size after being created and while such extra size may benefit them, growing too large slows them down.

Their multitude of body parts makes them hardy and difficult to stun and their multitude of heads make their vision difficult to impair, however the vast amount of minds combined can make them more susceptible to confusion effects

They have access to special abomination talents, that improve as they grow in size and constitution.

Adds the White Monk, a warrior subclass.

The White Monk wields no arms, instead using intense focus and training to turn their body into a weapon. They fend off enemy blows with their immense willpower and can preform healing and regenerative rites. Primary stats are Dexterity and Willpower. White Monks have the unique ability to project unarmed melee attacks at a distance, with talents that allow them to strike many targets in a area, as well. White Monks have a base damage modifier for hand gear of 60% Dex and 60% Wil, and gain some of the same benefits to unarmed attacks as Brawlers.

Includes seven new talent trees and incorporates a few existing trees from Warrior and Rogue classes.

Rending - Attack your foes from afar and sap their energy.

Mending - Heal and cleanse yourself and even prepare a rite that can ward off death itself.

Fending (generic) - Ward off enemy assaults, directing some damage to your stamina pool.

Agile Combatant - Move across the battlefield with unmatched agility.

Martial Arts - Master the art of unarmed fighting and gain bonus strikes from your attacks.

Black Belt (locked) - Learn advanced fighting techniques to cripple your foes and react with finely honed reflexes.

Transcending(locked) - Directly manipulate your foes' spirits to sap their energy and learn to project your spirit to assail all nearby foes.

This is a stand-alone Quality of Life pack that improves some minor things about ToME gameplay.
This pack corrects an (arguable) misfunction with negative healing factor which caused effects (like "Insidious Poison") to only reduce healing factor, and not OVERALL healing.
Background: There were far too many times that something said "-50% healing", but healing wasn't actually cut in half. I decided to fix this and it now automatically applies to ANY reduction of healing factor.
