Grove Keeper 1.6.7

Adds the Grove Keeper, a Wilder subclass. The Grove Keeper is pirmarily a mindpower-caster with limited summoning ability, but has the option to mix slings, or one-handed weapons and unarmed attacks, into their skill set. They are also able to become proficient with mindstars and focus wholly on mind-casting. Includes advanced class categories favoring either weapon-hybrid or mind-casting play style, with the advanced hybrid tree working equally well for ranged or melee.

Bristlebarb 1.6.7

Description

This addon adds the Bristlebarb as a playable class.
Bristlebarbs hate everyone with a passion, but refuse to lower themselves to the levels of other by fighting.
Their scorn alone empower them as they cover themselves in spikes and trudge their own path, in blood.

Bristlebarbs use no weapons but are covered in a living bramble that they can control.

They use a special resource : thorns.
Higher thorn count give them bonus damage.
Lower thorn count slow them down but increase their armor, as their thorn become dead wood.
Extremely low thorn will prevent all movement.
Thorns default to 50% on rest and increase in the presence of worthy enemies (rare rank and above).

5 unique class trees (1 locked) :
Scorn : A manifestation of their hate for the outside world
Flow of the thorn : You move like a vine, nothing stopping you from growing wherever you want.
One with the thorn : More and more, your body changes and adapt.
Mutation : your thorns started simple, what are they becoming now ?
Wrath of the thorn : harness your hate to guide your thorns in devastating attacks.

1 Unique generic tree (locked) :
Roots : a generic tree all about getting hit and doing nothing

Bristlebarbs can not appear on NPC.

Please report any bugs you find and I will endeavor to fix them ;)
The class should be mostly balanced except for Roots tree and thorn weapon damage.

Phoenix Knight: Powerful warriors who blast their foes with solar fire while calling healing light upon their allies. Their solar fire attacks will strike as either fire or light damage, whichever will hit their target the hardest, and their potent healing and cleansing abilities make them tough opponents to bring down.

Mind Knight: Psionic warriors who strengthen their mental abilities by tapping into their inner magic. Adept at telekinesis, telepathy, and teleportation, they are mobile scouts who can quickly get a lay of the land and sow chaos among their foes with physical and mental debilitations, or even outright compulsions.

Storm Knight: Swift skirmishers who rely on extreme mobility and powerful lightning magic to strike their foes down and avoid reprisals. Extremely fast and difficult to pin down, they can cast entire enemy units into disarray with their wealth of area attacks. All mage knights can cast while they fight, but experienced storm knights are also able to fight while they move.

Earth Knight: The heaviest of infantry, earth knights hammer their foes with physical and natural forces while shielding themselves with the power of the earth. Highly resilient in the face of any attack, earth knights provide a slow and steady offense supported by powerful gemstone shields and the endurance of a living mountain.

Sea Knight: Healers first, fighters second, battle mages a somewhat distant third, while sea knights lack the raw offensive power of other mage knights, they make up for it with amazing personal defense and recovery abilities. And though their attacks may be individually weak, like the sea itself, they are able to wear down even the strongest defenses eventually, eroding their opponents away with gradually strengthening spells, making them terrors in a battle of attrition.

Mana Knight: Experimenting pioneers who do amazing things with raw magical energy. They have the most conventional magical training of the mage knights, even if they sometimes put it to unconventional use. Their arcane attacks can overwhelm the powers of other spellcasters, and while they lack the scope of power of full-fledged archmages, they are masters of the fundamentals of the various arcane schools.

Dread Necromancer 1.6.7

The Dread Necromancer is a complete reimagining of Necromancer - while it shares many of the themes and names, and has a few talents retained, it's effectively an entirely new take on the class.
It still uses mana and souls, but souls behave quite differently. You can store up to 5, and regenerate and can retain up to 3 out of combat. Damage dealt by you and your minions grant soul fragments, and you gain a soul when you obtain a sufficient amount. Souls are used both to summon minions, and for your more powerful spells.
Depending on your categories chosen you can have powerful, temporary minions, weaker mass minions that last indefinitely in combat, or a single minion with customization options.

Adds Hiveminders, an insect-themed wilder class, as a birth option. Hiveminders are a melee class specialising in dual-wielded daggers or psiblades. They command their vast hivemind to lend them potent support and utility powers which make up for their lacking offense.

Hiveminder talent trees include:

Hivemind: Resonate your mind with your insects to enhance your perception and enthrall enemies!
Swarm: Command a swarm of stinging insects to protect you from harm or torment your foes!
Floral Kinship: Draw upon the bond between insects and plants to become closer to Nature!
Silk: Spin sturdy threads of silk to bind foes, mend your wounds, and more!
Insect Morph: Borrow the strength of the insect world to enhance your own strength!
Metamorphosis (locked): Renew, heal, and vitalise yourself with the power of insect life cycles!
Parasitism (locked): Embrace the dark side of insect symbiosis to devastate your foes, at a price!
Insect Guardian (locked): Befriend a duo of loyal scarab beetles as lifelong companions!

Hiveminders also have access to the Combat Training, Lethality, Call of the Wild, and Mindstar Mastery generic trees by default, and can additionally unlock the Fungus and Mobility trees through levelling up.

Power is a subtle thing, adventurer. The smallest of factors can make the greatest of differences.

Grave Resolve: passive. Bonus to Fear immunity and Mental save.

Dead Whispers: active. Grants telepathy Undead for a short time. Also let's you see what your minions see.
Necroanatomy: passive. You do increased damage to undead. Decreased damage you do to your own minions. Adds healing to Surge of Undeath. Increases max life of Doomed Shadows.

Blood Burst: radius 1 blight damage ranged burst, splash heals undead.
Grasping Claws: mass pin/bleed.
Meat Shield: sustain, grants a physical ward on kill.

Spell/Advanced Necrotic Minions
Undead Explosion: If used on a Wisp, it will be a radius 1 freeze. If used on a Bone Giant it will provide the Bone Shield and do physical damage.
Soulwind: Increases minion's movement speed and grants a chance to recover a soul when a minion dies.
Assemble: Better level scaling.
Minion Mastery: Added a Greater Mummy that upgrades on Ghoul King. Also protects your minions from interminion damage.

Spell/Necrotic Minions
Aura Mastery move to Necrosis.
Undeath Link moved to slot 2, now does less damage to your minions, but also adds all minions life drains together.

Also adds in a new class called the Spiritmancer:

The dead do not always rest easy, even free from fell influences.
Some linger, wishing to finish some unfinished business.
Others want to pass on a message to a loved one.
Some seek another chance for glory in battle or revenge against those who killed them.
They all eventually find a Spiritmancer, and bargain temporary servitude for closure.
The Spiritmancer can give form to the lost souls, allowing them to fight again. They also have powerful light and lightning magic.

Karmic Wave: active. weakish lightning damage cone. stronger when you are low on health.

Life Giver
Clay Golem: active. imbue a clay golem with the soul of a fallen warrior. Golem grants a physical resistance aura.
Poltergeist: sustain. randomly inflicts disarm or knockback against nearby enemies.
Gift of Life: active. give part of your life to your summons, healing them and making them tougher.
Hope: sustain. reduces debuff durations, increases fear resist.

Ghosts
Ghost Bulwark: active. summons a ghostly bulwark which can block attacks against adjacent allies.
Pale Veil: passive. allows your ghosts to Fade.
Ghost Berserker: active. summons a ghostly berserker. Choppy ghost.
Banshee: active. summon a banshee. Caster ghost.

Dawn
Shining Binds: active. ranged explosion for light damage and pin.
Pool of Light: active. Ground effect. Heals friendly. Lightblind enemies.
Holy Word: active. All nearby enemy undead/demons/horrors take light/arcane damage and are deafened.
Endless Light: sustain. increases light damage, light penentration and decreases spell cooldowns.

Justice
Lightning Flash: active. Throws a ball of lightning that explodes for lightning and blindness.
Peacemakers: active. Increases your summoned creatures strengths and speeds.
Indignation: active. Inscribe a symbol of justice on the ground. After a short delay it explodes with high lightning daze damage.
Righteous Fury: Lightning Mastery that also adds lightning damage to minion attacks.

Official Expansion!

One year has passed since the one the Orcs call the "Scourge from the West" came and single-handedly crushed the Orc Prides of Grushnak, Vor, Gorbat, and Rak'Shor.  The Allied Kingdoms, now linked by farportal to their distant, long-lost Sunwall allies, have helped them conquer most of Var'Eyal.  The few remnants of the ravaged Prides are caged...  but one Pride remains.  Kruk Pride, isolated on an island, is the last orcish settlement that stands; they, too, face their impending doom.  The Sunwall has blockaded the only exit point from the island, and now, the technologically advanced civilization of Steam Giants have come down from the mountains to take their homeland with machines and weaponry unlike anything else on Eyal.  Kruk Pride has reverse-engineered their technology before; their only hope is to do it again and rise up against the Pride's foes.

      Lately the number of sightings of horrors have grown tremendously. People wander off the beaten paths only to be found years later, horribly mutated and partly insane, if they are found at all. It is becoming evident something is stirring deep below Maj'Eyal.

      Forbidden Cults is a big expansion for Tales of Maj'Eyal to let you explore the horrors that lurk beneath the surface, to delve in long lost knowledge and lore and as usual to die a lot!


      Forbidden Cults makes two new classes available to play:

      • Writhing One: Give in to the corrupting forces and turn yourself gradually into an horror, summon horrors to do your bidding, shed your skin and melt your face to assault your foes. With your arm already turned into a tentacle, what creature can stop you?
      • Cultist of Entropy: Using its insanity and control of entropic forces to unravel the normal laws of physic this caster class can turn healing into attacks and call upon the forces of the void to reduce its foes to dust.

      Both those classes use a new resource called Insanity that gradually makes you both more chaotic and powerful as it fills up.


      Forbidden Cults makes two new races available to play:

      • Drem: A corrupt subrace of dwarves, that somehow managed to keep a shred of sanity to not fully devolve into mindless horrors. They can enter a frenzy and even learn to summon horrors.
      • Krog: Ogres transformed by the very thing that should kill them. Their powerful attacks can stun their foes and they are so strong they can dual wield any one handed weapons.

        This process also makes you more aware of your opponents. You can detect other characters in a radius of 3, even through walls.

        Your stealth breaks when you make an attack or use most talents, and it doesn't reset until you leave combat. At raw talent level 3, you also reset your stealth any time you teleport, as your sudden change in position causes your foes to lose track of you again.

        At raw talent level 5, any time you reset your stealth in combat, you attempt to erase the memory of your presence from your foes, potentially causing them to cease targeting you (this allows a mental save and checks confusion resistance).

If you make multiple sneak attacks, they all inflict extra damage, but only the first in any given turn imposes detrimental effects. Damage and duration scale with Magic.

        Your psychic awareness also improves. You now constantly map the terrain in a radius of 3.

        At raw talent level 3, your sneak attacks badly startle anyone who witnesses them, and within your mapping range you can use your psychic powers to make that shock deadly. Any witnesses to the attack (other than your target) receives 2 Mind damage and may be dazed for 1 turns. If you sneak attack multiple foes in the same turn, only the first causes this effect.

        At raw talent level 5, your stealth resets any time you kill an opponent.

The effect moves targets up to one tile per 100 points of the talent's base power.

        Description: The iconic power of the Mage Knights, you channel the raw energy of your magic outwardly as you fight, saving the effort of taking active control of your power and allowing it to flow freely. The power you are channeling is visible in an aura around you, bright enough to increase your light radius by 2. At base, channeling your power outwardly adds 10 damage to all attacks of the energy type appropriate to your mage knight offensive spells. This scales with the higher of Spellpower or Mindpower.

        In addition, your first successful melee attack each turn grants a 23% chance to trigger one of various Mage Knight talents instead of dealing the bonus damage. This quarters both the cooldown and Essence cost of the talent, and can only happen once per turn. The talent operates at two-thirds normal power. Triggered talents are determined randomly, but with prioritization based on how useful they are in the moment (spells that restore life are more likely to trigger when low on life, spells that provide buffs are more likely to trigger when you aren't heavily buffed, etc). Spells of higher talent level are generally prioritized over those of lower level.

        If you are wielding a two-handed weapon, triggered talents operate at full power.

        If you are using a shield, when you trigger a talent, you also have a 50% chance to automatically Block. Defensive talents have their priority increased when using a shield.

        If you are using two weapons, when you trigger a talent, you have a 50% chance to trigger the talent a second time at no further resource cost.

        If you are using a single one-handed weapon (or unarmed), your chance of triggering a talent is increased by half.

        Note that since Essence users rely on channeling minimal amounts of mana, they can't wield staves to the same effect as others. The staff Accuracy bonus is reduced to one-fifth normal for characters with an Essence pool.

        Your power modifier for a low Essence applies to the bonus damage and to your chance of triggering a talent. Note that since it will also apply to the power of your talents normally, this means that Eldritch Combat is doubly impacted by a low Essence - pace yourself!

        Some Mage Knight talents have "Advanced Energy" effects. These effects apply when you manually use the talent while Eldritch Combat is active. Many of these advanced effects may be occasionally inconvenient, so if you don't wish to trigger them you may deactivate Eldritch Combat to prevent them.

        Description: While Eldritch Combat allows a Mage Knight to channel their magical power outwardly while they fight, Eldritch Body lets them channel it inwardly, directing the flow of it through their body to augment their speed and power, and help them withstand powerful forces.

        When you first learn this talent, you may substitute Magic for Strength and Dexterity for purposes of equipment requirements, and you substitute magic for all other abilities for purposes of weapon damage, and you gain the ability to wear all forms of armor. Of course, if you have the physical aptitude to wield the weapon normally, that still helps to some degree; you add 7% of the normal ability damage modifiers into your weapons as well; weapons that can use both Strength and Dexterity will convert the Strength modifier to a Dexterity modifier as well if your Dexterity is higher than your Strength. In addition, using your magic to strengthen, hasten, and reinforce your body allows you to make the most of your fighting style:
        -When armed with two weapons, they may both be one-handed weapons. For each dagger that you wield, your offhand damage modifier increases by 25% (if you wield a single dagger or a dagger with a shield this modifier will apply to the bonus attack from them as well).
        -When armed with a two-handed weapon, any time you attack you make a second attack for 25% normal damage.
        -When armed with a shield, any time you attack you also execute a shield bash for 50% normal damage.
        -When armed with a single weapon (or unarmed) any time you attack you also make an unarmed strike for 50% normal damage. When fully unarmed you get a +25% bonus to your combat speed.

        Your ability to magically reinforce your body allows you to mitigate overwhelming forces, although this takes a lot of effort and your strength will fade rapidly when you do it, possibly even to the point of death. You reduce all damage received from other characters by potentially as much as 15%. However, the actual reduction is multiplied by both the percentage of your current effective life over your maximum effective life (which includes damage shields and negative life threshold), and the percentage of the damage over your current effective life. So this protects you best when you are at high health and facing high incoming damage - lesser attacks aren't worth the effort to mitigate, and as your strength fails so does your ability to exert that sort of effort. The calculation accumulates damage over the course of one turn, so multiple attacks all coming in the same turn will be reduced according to their combined total compared to your initial life. If the final percent reduction is below 17%, no reduction will occur at all. All damage mitigated by this effect is then returned as irresistible damage over the next 5 turns as your strength fades.

        This talent can be triggered by Eldritch Combat.

        Additionally, as a passive effect, you are able to overcome unworthy opponents with trivial effort. Your Essence regeneration increases by 1 for every turn beyond 10 that you have both been in combat and not received any damage. Leaving combat or taking damage immediately resets this bonus to 0. (In practice this is almost never going to matter in actual play and is merely a convenience for using training dummies and such, but who knows it might do something occasionally).

        Description: It is important for a Mage Knight to pace itself during battle, but that need not mean standing idle. When you pass a turn in combat (allowing you to regain Essence), you go on guard for one turn, gaining 9% resist all, 5% resist all cap, and 13% new effect reduction.

        At higher talent levels, if you are at maximum Essence when you pass a turn, then you can take advantage of the breather recuperate in other ways:

        At raw talent level 2, you recover 0 life.

        At raw talent level 3, all of your detrimental effects have their durations lowered by 1.

        At raw talent level 4, one of your talents will cooldown an additional turn.

        At raw talent level 5, another talent will cooldown an additional turn.
