Basically you are presented with a simple choice(or multiple choices) and have the option of allowing the game to randomly choose your type(which can include more powerful subclass specific types)

The Talent Point Planner allows you to plan how to spend your character's future talent points (hence the name).  Bound to the <alt-shift-g> key by default [which can be changed in the usual manner], the planner makes a temporary copy of your character, levels it up to level 50, and opens the level-up dialog for you to set up your point plan.  When you're finished, the plan will be saved and displayed as annotations in the regular level-up dialog.

Also provides various small improvements and bugfixes for the levelup dialog:

• New game option "[ZOmnibus] | Sort unlearnt talent trees by name", with settings "None", "Unlearnt" or "All".
• New game option "[ZOmnibus] | Verbose talent requirements", which adds a warning message to talent descriptions in the levelup dialog if you cannot use a talent due to not wielding appropriate equipment or similar requirements.
• In the planner levelup dialog, press <Ctrl-U> to dump the current point plan to a file.
• Improves "advanced display" mode for talents with maximum level greater than 5.
• Updates stat display when increasing or decreasing level of talents that passively improve stats.

Version 3.0: Compatible with ToME 1.5.0

This addon supports game play for character levels higher than 50, primarily for the infinite dungeon (I.D.). This implements a number of subtle changes, rescaling game mechanics and balance for character levels above 50 in the Maj'Eyal, Infinite, and Arena campaigns for ToME. The intent is to make it possible (though certainly not easy) to reach level 500 of the Infinite Dungeon. This is not a nerf or a buff to game difficulty per se, but, rather, an extension of the well-balanced game play from the Maj'Eyal campaign to higher levels.

Some talents and status effects have been adjusted to accommodate the higher character levels possible. You can see a summary of these by checking the "Infinite500" tab in Game Options.

Once a character enters the I.D., the level 50 cap is removed and normal stats-per-level progression is enabled from level 51 onward. The limit on how high primary stats may be trained is removed (limited by character level as normal) and dependent computed value limits are also appropriately increased. No additional Prodigies are gained automatically after level 50. (Note that additional category points and (rarely) Prodigies can be gained by completing I.D. challenges.) Talent mastery levels can be improved more than once, and talent levels are unlearnable as normal in the I.D.

NPC levels in the I.D. have been adjusted to be compatible with higher game difficulty settings.

Most monsters and bosses from the Maj'Eyal campaign are imported into the I.D. along with their respective unique drops.

Traps have been added back to the I.D.

Isolated shops can appear randomly in the I.D. There is guaranteed to be at least one shop on level 1, and they become more common for the first few levels, and then more rare with depth.

Random escorts may be randomly generated on each level in the I.D. unless a challenge has been started, until the normal number (9) have been attempted.

The lichform quest is completed in the I.D. with a new random drop instead of automatically being completed at the appropriate step. There is a new greater vault in the I.D. that affects this quest.

The Corruption/Hexes tree can be learned from a new random drop.

Most major events from the Maj'Eyal campaign are enabled in the I.D., and there is a new event that can award the cursed-aura tree.

Undead characters starting in the I.D. begin with an artefact cloak. This is similar to the Cloak of Deception, but its stats scale with character level and it can spawn randomly for other characters.

This addon incorporates some modified game mechanics:
The ability to shrug off critical hits has been changed. Instead of using the percent value to ignore crits completely, it reduces the crit multiplier by the same amount to a minimum of 100%.

Modified checkHit and checkHitOld functions are employed that allow for wider level differences between opponents (see http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=35229).
Saving throws have been modified slightly to make them more effective at reducing the duration of status effects you fail to save against. (See http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=36715 for details.)

An attempt to make 1920x1080 easier on my decaying eyesight, plus a few personal preferences. This is a revamp for the Minimalist UI. It may work for Classic, but hasn't been tested for it. Most settings can be found on the UI tab on the Game Options screen.

• Adds a 'Fonts' tab to 'Game Options'. Choose separate font styles and sizes for six categories:

    * menus & dialogs

• 'Limit Terrain Height' option will rescale trees and mushrooms to prevent them from overlapping the grid above them. (Will not affect current level until you leave and return.)
• Adds viewport options: 'Original' is the stock behavior from v1.1.5 ToME. The game will use Scroll Distance, but won't show a black border around the map. With a high Scroll Distance, you will remain centered until you get to the edge of the map, at which point the map stops moving and your character moves off-center. 'No Hiding' is now the stock behavior of v1.2.x ToME. It is a bit of a hybrid. The map will scroll similar to 1.1.5, but will show enough of a black border so that your avatar will not hide under UI elements such as the mini-map and hotkey bar. 'Centered' will force the viewport to strictly follow the Scroll Distance setting. If you have it a high number, you will be centered 100% of the time.
• Adds option to enable right-click dragging of the viewport. This will coexist with mouse gestures but may not mix with them in a visually pleasing manner.
• Separate adjustable background transparencies for dialogs, tooltips, combat log, chat, and hotkeys.
• Adjustable tooltip width.
• Ability to change tooltip location: each of the four corners / at mouse cursor / opposite corner from mouse.
• Tooltip will get out of the way of target location via keyboard as well as mouse cursor.

Stoics are warriors who dedicate their lives to mastering countless secret techniques.
Their wide variety of abilities allows them to fight their way out of any situation.
However, in order to fight at full effectiveness, they must first focus and steel themselves against the battle to come. Exceptionally skilled Stoics are said to infuse their attacks with elemental powers to create radical new fighting styles.

Stoics are a warrior subclass inspired by the Samurai class from Hengband. They are a melee class with a wide variety of specialized combat techniques, but require judicious use of their unique Focus resource to succeed. Their advanced trees allow them to alter the element of their attacks and grant passive effects as long as the stance is maintained.

In general, this mod is for people (like me) who like to do everything in a game. Visit all the dungeons, kill all the bosses, preferably get all the artifacts. By allowing all characters to visit some more restricted dungeons, we can make that a little easier. This mod is not intended to be lore-friendly, but I may make a lore-friendlier version in the future. (As it stands you can visit Irkkk as a halfling and the Yeek don't care. I may change that.)

Current mod features:
All characters can visit the Iron Throne, its shops, and its two attendant dungeons.
All characters can travel through the tunnel in the Ancient Halfling Complex to reach the Island of Rel. There they can visit Irkkk and the two dungeons.
All characters will receive caldera at level 20, and sludgenest at level 30.

Inquisitare were the shock troopers of the inquisition, the first in,
the first to bleed, the first to die. Disbanded 1,000 years ago,
one lost legion has fought an endless battle after entering a fearscape
portal during the burning times. Today, having fought their way to
the dark throne of that place and been granted leave of it, they are
reborn anew on maj'eyal earth.

The Lost City of Vulcus

Some events in history are of such importance and have such wide ranging ramifications that they become fixed points -- junctions in time that must and will happen in order to maintain the integrity of the chronoverse.

Lost ages ago, Vulcus was considered by many to be the greatest center of Dwarven learning below the surface. Even up until the fall of Reknor in recent times, however, Dwarven innovation and breakthroughs continued, seemingly by miracle. Fate, however, dictates that one of the greatest untold secrets of the Empire cannot remain hidden forever. Perhaps you will be chosen to take part in this crucial point in history -- to reap the rewards or to suffer the consequences.

This addon incorporates a new major event (like the drake cave or fearscape invasion portal) that has a chance to occur (possibly more than once) on each level in various zones (Infinite Dungeon, Spellblaze Scar, Ardhungol, High Peak, Reknor, Shadow Crypt). Within the game, this event is most like a combination of the Lost Merchant and Limmir quests, and is intended to replace those for characters in the I.D.

Recommended level 10+ (depending on class). The intended difficulty is slightly higher than the Limmir quest, and there are gradations of success. Participating in the event when it spawns is completely optional and you can do it later if desired.

This is possibly the most complex encounter in ToME, with a large number of NPCs, enhanced AI, and various terrain effects. It is compute heavy and will tax slower computers (even with reduced graphics settings).

Adds new races to take your game in different directions.

Feline: Lucky and agile warriors that prefer keeping their hide in one piece. Have an extra ring slot, but no feet slot due to oddly shaped feet.
Grey Canine: Proud alpha dogs that lead their pack into battle as they roam maj'eyal. Strong and healthy. They also have odd feet and miss out on the slot, but do not deign to ornate their tails with baubles.
Hooter: Wise birds that can see trouble coming. They have an extra amulet slot. Like most of the furrae races, they have no feet slot. Darn talons.

Add a Werebeast class to the Wilder metaclass.
Requires Cursed and Wyrmic unlocked.

Cursed by Nature to become an avenger against all who harm her.
Werebeasts take on traits from natural creatures.
Unlike a Wyrmic, the Werebeast must focus their will to stop their abilities controlling them.
They use: Strength, Cunning and Willpower.

Its a bit Cursed, a bit Wyrmic and a bit Rogue.
Can be played with conventional weapons or dual mindstars, stealthy or heavy.
Uses both Hate and Equilibrium.

The Monipsist is a Psionic who has learned how reality works (similarly to the Solipsist), but has melded Mind and Body together. They are heavily Melee reliant, with several disengages, AoE, and a few castables.

They will be getting their own class specific skills once I lean how to code them. Mainly giving them a Will instead of Str on the gloves, Will + Dex for accuracy, and mind damage conversions. And prolly the ability to knock everything around like leaves in the wind.

Haunted: an unarmed hate-based warrior

This addon adjusts the way friendly NPC's react to hostile actions by the player.

In most cases, the personal reaction of an NPC to the player (friendly/neutral/hostile) will slowly recover (by 10% each turn, minimum 1 point) back to it's default value over time. If the player doesn't further aggravate the NPC, it will eventually become neutral/friendly again. (Though it will still probably have the player targeted, depending on its ai settings which are not addressed in this addon.) The exception is if the player kills another friendly NPC within LOS, which will result in the NPC becoming permanently hostile to the player in most cases.

Putting a detrimental status effect on the NPC will create a -25 (negative) reaction to the player (in addition to the penalties from any damage caused).

Stops npcs going hostile when you accidently hit them with something.

Charged with keeping the secret of Angolwen's location by any means neccesary,
the Black Staff operatives of SI:3 are an elite mage-rogue force. Capable of dual wielding weapons while maintaining an arcane focus for support and cover fire, they ferret out spies with their cunning, keen senses, and divinatory magic then eliminate them with extreme prejudice.

This updated version takes the class in a somewhat different direction, and starts them in Angolwen. The Angolwen starter dungeon can be done with a phase door rune, but it is...tricky. So they start with a controlled phase door rune. A bit of a cheat, but let's say it's SI:3's version of Bond gadgets. To be done in future updates possibly: changing psi-fighting to a custom arcane talent.

Double sided weapons are held with both hands, doing 100% str damage and having some dex requirement, with the ability to perform an extra offhand each attack.

These weapons are considered two-handed weapons and also can be used with skills that requires and offhand weapon.

The chance to perform an offhand attack is 20%, but can be increased with proper training.

Doubles the maximum life of all non-player (and player party) characters (NPCs).

This addon improves rare drops (Salmon colored items) by adding a single level appropriate ego to them. (They use the same methods as normal randarts.)

This should make rare drops more useful on average (generally slightly better than normal egos) though still less powerful than full randarts.

Enables faster run/resting by use of FPS dividers.

These dividers simply divide the game's requested FPS by their respective values while resting or running. After starting a new game or loading a saved character, configure this addon by hitting escape -> video options. Setting these dividers to something greater than one can substantially reduce the amount of time required to finish resting/running on older computers.

Just be careful when resting on an escort mission...

Others want to pass on a message to a loved one.
Some seek another chance for glory in battle or revenge against those who killed them.

The Spiritmancer can give form to the lost souls, allowing them to fight again. They also have powerful light and lightning magic.

Spirit Form: active. can walk through walls temporarily. Light affinity.

Karma
Sprites: active. Summons Wisps of lightning. Ranged zappers.
Jolt of Fate: active. Lighting hits a random visible enemy.
Karmic Shield: active. Absorbs damage for a few turns then explodes based on damage absorbed.
Karmic Wave: active. weakish lightning damage cone. stronger when you are low on health.

Life Giver
Clay Golem: active. imbue a clay golem with the soul of a fallen warrior. Golem grants a physical resistance aura.
Poltergeist: sustain. randomly inflicts disarm or knockback against nearby enemies.
Gift of Life: active. give part of your life to your summons, healing them and making them tougher.
Hope: sustain. reduces debuff durations, increases fear resist.

Ghosts
Ghost Bulwark: active. summons a ghostly bulwark which can block attacks against adjacent allies.
Pale Veil: passive. allows your ghosts to Fade.
Ghost Berserker: active. summons a ghostly berserker. Choppy ghost.
Banshee: active. summon a banshee. Caster ghost.

Dawn
Shining Binds: active. ranged explosion for light damage and pin.
Pool of Light: active. Ground effect. Heals friendly. Lightblind enemies.
Holy Word: active. All nearby enemy undead/demons/horrors take light/arcane damage and are deafened.
Endless Light: sustain. increases light damage, light penentration and decreases spell cooldowns.

Justice
Lightning Flash: active. Throws a ball of lightning that explodes for lightning and blindness.
Peacemakers: active. Increases your summoned creatures strengths and speeds.
Indignation: active. Inscribe a symbol of justice on the ground. After a short delay it explodes with high lightning daze damage.
Righteous Fury: Lightning Mastery that also adds lightning damage to minion attacks.

Primary Features:
Two new Archmage style classes; Arcanist and Elementist.
One new Enchanter class.
Some extra talents for Alchemist.
Lots of new artifacts.
Artifact gems are more interesting to attach to golems.
Crystal Focus/Heart items can be deconstructed to recover the gem.

Arcanist Features:
Like Archmage, but also starts with temporal, meta and nightfall unlocked, and no elemental categories.
Has two unique categories; High magic and Void magic.
Can also unlock Illusion, Distortion, Power and Morph.

Elementist Features:
Like Archmage, but only elemental categories.
Has three unique categories; Elementalism, Corrupted Elements and Elemental Fusion.

Enchanter Features:
Apply a variety of enchantments to your equipment.
Dabble in safe and unsafe hedge magic.
Defeat monsters with your prowess with a staff.

Archmage Features:
1 new category containing 8 arcane/elemental combo spells.

Alchemist Features:
Altered Alchemists Guild quest.
Two new unique categories: Poison Alchemy and Metal Alchemy.
They also get access to Mana Alchemy and Herbalism.

Allows you to choose one faction ally for the final battle, for added variety.

This pack compiles several classes, with an emphasis on hybrid design. Not all classes are complete: the ones which I'm not satisfied with are marked as either INCOMPLETE or "in BETA".

The classes included in this pack are:
- The Transcendent Fist is an unarmed Psionic warrior, using a gem in his TK slot to hit with flexible energy types.
- The Storm Warden is a melee-and-ranged skirmisher with magical mobility and support spells.
- The Striker is a cunning and covert class, with a focus on delivering shock-and-awe thunderbolts from stealth.
- The Gravitic Infantry is a melee-focused Chronomancy user (formerly named the Heavy).
- The Creep is a stalker in the dark, cunning and covert in his hate.
- The Vector uses disease and debilitation to keep his foes at range while he snipes them to death.
- The Flenser is a Defiler whose knives debilitate and torture his victims.
- The Blood Mage is a Vim-based caster with a mild dip into staff-melee combat.
- ... and more!

(BETA) Shield Hero is an Adventurer who starts with heavy armor and a shield. Not very exciting unless you were annoyed about not being able to equip your Adventurer's shield right away.
(BETA) Prototype Hero is an Adventurer who starts with 1.3 mastery in every category. Not very useful for players, but it might be interesting for addon writers to spitball new category combinations.

(INCOMPLETE) The Flux Marauder is a Paradox thug, stealing time from his enemies.
