Yeah, when starting out, Adventure mode makes the most sense. It's a tough game, and it only gets tougher after the Master. So give yourself some leeway to make mistakes or walk unknowingly into deathtraps (there are some really nasty ones out there if you aren't willing to spoil yourself by reading up on the game.) Hell, lots of people -- me included -- prefer Adventure mode even after knowing the ins and outs of the game. If you don't have unlimited time to spend playing, it can be frustrating starting from scratch every time you die even when you're playing perfectly. There are always going to be situations where you're just whacked up side the head by the RNG.
Congrats on making it to the Master. Next time, the best course would be to scan for monsters (if you have an item or talent that can do that), try to clear as much of the level as you can before taking on the Master and, when in doubt, teleport away immediately after killing him the first time. You can rest up and, since he's at full health already, you don't have to worry about him taking advantage of your absence to heal up again. Just remember -- he *will* be coming to look for you, so keep an eye out.
"Verdant song", "Transplant" and "Botanikal Strike" not affecting Treants, summoned by Thalorn's "Nature's Pride", despite that they are plants.
Yeah, no idea how better that was due to not having fully explored Forbidden Cults, so fairly new to me.
Didn't realize how powerful it was until I read the wiki.
That's my bad, yeah holy crap...I gotta start siding with the AL now and try it out for myself...
The Assassin Lord is a pretty damned good body for clearing most T1s and T2s. Now that the level requirement for the quest has been raised significantly, you won't be using him to wipe most T1s, granted, but, alternatively, he's scaled up and you do have more Possessor talents trained and can therefore make better use of him (including multiple bodies.) I've cleared the entire West with just the AL's body used judiciously and clicking Shadowstep (to weaken or kill the strongest opponent in sight) and Shadow Veil a lot (though also judiciously.) So killing him has a significant advantage, especially if you're playing higher difficulties (which, as a Possessor, you should be) and are likely to be getting great loot from drops anyway.
Edit: I do feel compelled to note that I'm just talking main sequence dungeons. You're not going to clear the Elven Ruins or the Ruined Dungeon or the like with the AL unless you're getting serious help from add-ons (which I currently am, just on a lark, by using an add-on that allows Possessor talents to be chosen by an Adventurer, which makes for a seriously OP combination. Don't try to take out the Grand Corrupter with just an ordinary AL possession.)
Sorry for the late reply. In the latest release (1.0.2) you can choose whether to learn the skill or not.
I fixed 'Great Caller' to have proper bonus!
And the Dragon is not intended to be bonded, so I made it not be selectable by 'Strengthened Bond'. Thank you.
The talent doesn't mention it, so I'd assume no but maybe you just didn't include it in description. Its a valid target for it, but that's probably because its a summon spell. Also a suggestion, you could make changes for the 'Great caller' Mindstar ( https://te4.org/wiki/Great_Caller ) (if you havent yet). It's stats seem like they would be useless when all the summoner changes in this addon are considered. And ofcourse, great addon!
If you know what you are doing with egos the assassin lord is significantly better. You might get something good with the merchant but you will get something great by rerolling. You can make completely broken items with it.
I completely and utterly disagree with this.
The merchant is SO much better then siding with the Assassin Lord it's unreal.
Killing the Assassin Lord gets you his loot off his body and experience and unlocks the best shop in the game.
Shops rarely have anything good but he always has some sort of artefact, and if you're lucky (or unlucky early game) he can sell the blood vial giving you an extra life.
You also get to craft your own randomized Artefacts, some of which rival and even EXCEED the power of per-determined artefact weapons and armor. Sure, it's not a 100% guarantee to get an upgrade, but this being a roguelike means you're not always going to get that specific item anyway.
For me, the Trollmire Renegade was on Trollmire 2, not with Bill. So maybe they are randomized? Or randomized per dungeon? I hope I don't have to go search all the t1 dungeons I skipped.
Is there no way to remove, reject, or limit talents? My first go at this, I absorbed something antimagic, which destroyed the character for the purpose I intended. I get that this is intended to be chaotic, but unless you only want to make antimagic characters it will get frustrating to have your time wasted by a random accident.
Perhaps a mechanism like Wheel of Fate, where you can do something about an unfortunate turn of events after a while?
What about beans? Will they get some love too?
I got the following error message when playing with both MODs. My main character is a possessor and when I created a new party member who is not a possessor, the game poped up an error window.
Lua Error: /data-possessor_fixes_bamboo/modify_cannibalize.lua:33: attempt to call method 'spotHostiles' (a nil value)
I certainly understand that it is not really your problem but could you maybe take a look into it? Thanks.
Personally I feel a simple check like 'if self.spotHostiles shall be able to fix the problem?
BEAMS !
lost lands gonna be so good
still waiting to be able to make meth as an alchemist
JESSE WE NEED TO COOK
as a serial addon addict, the zomnibus is one of my must-haves
it would be a matter of one Dark God Time Unit?
Still kicking. Progress is being made on the next DLC and a lot of work has already been done for the next update. DarkGod posts teasers for Lost Lands on the Discord channel from time to time. There haven't been news posts here for the last couple of annual events, but I wouldn't read much into that.
Update+dlc is coming...eventually
Is the game dead?
the first one is always one of the hardest
Way your npc generates on worldmap means that some ends up covering one of 4 extra dungeons if they are all unlocked by mod.
Well, if you'd prefer to save the lost merchant, my Font of Sacrifice to the Rescue addon makes the Font of Sacrifice available that way too.
