This is a stand-alone Quality of Life pack that improves some minor things about ToME gameplay.
This pack adds a "scanning" feature that allows you to quickly check the map for commonly queried things, such as character weaknesses, terrain effects, projectile paths, etc...

Background: After watching a friend nearly rage quit ToME after failing to understand stealth mechanics. It inspired me to add more information to the UI!

Re-adds various useful 1.5-vintage items that were removed in the 1.6 game release. Currently supports:

• Torques of psychoportation
• Gloves/gauntlets of dispersion

Adds new game option "UI | Scroll hotkeys toolbar with scroll wheel", which can be disabled to prevent the scroll wheel or other scrolling input mechanisms from affecting the hotkeys toolbar.

Modifies the Storming the City quest to change its reward item to a Rod of Dissipation, essentially identical in functionality to the original Rune of Dissipation but not requiring an inscription slot

Automatically collects notes about unvisited zones and unactivated features/events that the player has seen and may wish to return to later, updated as the player revisits said points of interest. Notes will reflect:

• Unopened golden chests, graves and weird pedestals; giant digestive sacks and strange tentacle "trees" from the Forbidden Cults DLC; demon statues from the Ashes of Urh'rok DLC; strange conduits from the Embers of Rage DLC.
• Unopened vaults, including "hidden vault" sub-zones.
• Various quest-related events like Tempest Peak and the Sher'tul farportal.
• Sub-zones like damp caves, intimidating caves, and the temporal rift in Daikara.
• Glyph sequences from the Forbidden Cults DLC, as found on various levels.
• Various non-main-plot zones on the world map, like Ruined Dungeon or Mark of the Spellblaze (configurable), if you have not visited them or killed their associated guardian.

Notes for a level are updated when the player enters or leaves the level, and when bringing up the auto-collected notes list manually via <Alt-Shift-A> (configurable via the "Key bindings" dialog). The auto-collected notes list will also optionally pop up when you load a character, configurable via the game option "UI | Automatic notes".

Places the entrance to the tinker cave from the Embers of Rage DLC (required) on the world map for all characters in the Age of Ascendancy campaign, without requiring that the character be playing a Tinker class or rescue a tinker escort.

Increases the minimum spawn level of Gunsnake from the Embers of Rage DLC (required) from 8 to 15. (In theory, it could still appear at an earlier level depending on out-of-depth checks in zone generation, but the likelihood of that should be significantly reduced.)

Automatically shuts down the four summoning portals on the Sanctum.

Modifies and expands the "must be held wth both hands" annotation on two-handed weapons to include one-handed weapons, weapons like daggers that can be wielded in both mainhand or offhand, and equipment like shields worn in the offhand.

Modifies the Ancient Automatated Teacher from the Embers of Rage DLC (required), adding options for the player to purchase the Steamtech/Blacksmith and Steamtech/Engineering talent trees. A companion piece to Tinker Cave for Everyone; they can be used together or separately.

Modifies the addons list on the online character sheet to include both the addon version (if available) and the minimum supported game module version (in parentheses if both are present).

Modifies the Font of Sacrifice from the Forbidden Cults DLC (required), giving it the extra ability to modify wild infusions in the player's inventory. Wild infusions that remove a single type of effect can be changed to another type for 500 gold, or have a second type added for 1000 gold; wild infusions that remove two types of effects can have one of them changed for 500 gold.

Not all adventurers seek fortune, not all that defend the world have good deeds in mind.
Lately the number of sightings of horrors have grown tremendously. People wander off the beaten paths only to be found years later, horribly mutated and partly insane, if they are found at all. It is becoming evident something is stirring deep below Maj'Eyal.
That something is you.

Forbidden Cults is a big expansion for Tales of Maj'Eyal to let you explore the horrors that lurk beneath the surface, to delve in long lost knowledge and lore and as usual to die a lot!

Forbidden Cults makes two new classes available to play:

• Writhing One: Give in to the corrupting forces and turn yourself gradually into an horror, summon horrors to do your bidding, shed your skin and melt your face to assault your foes. With your arm already turned into a tentacle, what creature can stop you?
• Cultist of Entropy: Using its insanity and control of entropic forces to unravel the normal laws of physic this caster class can turn healing into attacks and call upon the forces of the void to reduce its foes to dust.

Both those classes use a new resource called Insanity that gradually makes you both more chaotic and powerful as it fills up.

Forbidden Cults makes two new races available to play:

• Drem: A corrupt subrace of dwarves, that somehow managed to keep a shred of sanity to not fully devolve into mindless horrors. They can enter a frenzy and even learn to summon horrors.
• Krog: Ogres transformed by the very thing that should kill them. Their powerful attacks can stun their foes and they are so strong they can dual wield any one handed weapons.

Forbidden Cults adds many new zones for you to explore and die in:

• Kroshkkur: An ancient Sher'tul Fortress laying half in ruins that serves as a focal point, and home, for all kinds of creatures seeking lost knowledge.
• The Maggot: A huge living corrupted worm about to destroy Kroshkkur! Teleport inside and save your sanctuary of horrors!
• The Godfeaster: Deep undergroud the ground shakes as ... -- redacted by corrupt forces --
• The Scourge Pits: On the south of the Iron Throne lays a fool pit of ... -- redacted by corrupt forces --
• Forbidden Tomes: Find special artifact books of ancient lore. But, read at your own peril, for the story they tell may very well suck you in... quite literally.
  Maybe you will even find The One That Writes...
• Occult Egress: A strange, extremely old, contraption of unknown origin. It seems to require some kind of code sequence to activate. Maybe you will find some during your adventures?

Adds a variety of random youkai that have weird and/or stupid quirks, generally pertaining to equipment slots.
Takonyudo (octopode): namesake of the addon. Start with poison unlocked. 4 weapon and 4 offhands, 8 rings, and no armor except helmet.
Oboroguruma (oxcart): equip any weapon, armor, or jewelry you like, but the total quantity of items you can equip is limited by level.
Chopirako (house spirit): all chance based events succeed every time.
Iwanabozu (fish monk): high life rating. Cannot deal or take more than 1% of its life per hit, which is relaxed as you deal or take more damage.
Mekurabe (pile of skulls): 16 head slots and no other armor. Roll around stealthily as a bunch of heads, then assemble yourself to frighten anyone you stare at.
Kyorinrin (sentient scroll): no armor slots. Gain stats and extra talent levels by picking up lore pieces depending on how long the lore scrap was.
Aoandon (lantern spirit): no armor slots. Tell ghost stories to reduce power and saves, then manifest in a flash of terror.

Modifies wild infusions and phase door runes to confer separate talents for their primary function and their damage-reduction side effect.

Prevents "tombstones" and "old-battle-field" events from being generated. For those who have no intention of ever digging up a grave and would rather not have them cluttering up their landmarks list or dragging their auto-explore off course.

Removes the sawbutcher class from random generated npcs.

Arranges for various sequential lore to be learned in sequence, independent of the order of lore object discovery.

This is a stand-alone Quality of Life pack that improves some minor things about ToME gameplay.
This pack improves visibility of status effects by adding particles to certain effect types (such as "dizzy stars" for stuns and confusions, or green bubbles for poisons).
Background: It is otherwise difficult to tell if or when certain effects procced or not, and it is also kind of obnoxious having to check each and every enemy for whether they're affected by something or not.
Stability: Very High

• Features can be toggled in: "(Menu)" > "Game Options" --> "[Nekarcos]"

An experimental addon that expands tinker-related actions from the use-item dialog and inventory dialog to allow attaching/detaching tinkers on equipment worn by the Alchemist's golem or other permanent party members. In particular:

• From the player inventory dialog, the "Attach to item" action will include suitable equipment worn by your golem in its list of attachment candidates.
• From the Interact with the Golem equipment/inventory dialog, the "Attach to item" action will attach tinkers from the player's inventory to equipment worn by the golem (popping up a list if there are multiple candidates), and the "Detach from item" and "Detach tinker" actions will remove tinkers from the golem's equipment and return them to the player's inventory.
• Drag-and drop in the Interact with the Golem equipment/inventory dialog should also work for attaching and detaching tinkers.
• The "Gameplay | Swap tinkers" option, if enabled, should behave the same way when changing the golem's equipment as when changing the player's equipment.

This addon should also work similarly with the Annihilator's mecharachnid from the Embers of Rage DLC, the Writhing One's worm that walks from the Forbidden Cults DLC, or other permanent party members provided by other addons; for those cases, we recommend also using addons Interact with the Worm, Interact with the Mech, or Interact with Sidekicks, respectively, to provide access similar to the Interact with the Golem dialog.

Modifies the chat dialog for the Fortress Shadow in the Sher'tul fortress, in particular the dialog stage for changing the Fortress Shadow's appearance, adding the option to choose any of the custom tiles available from the character creation dialog. Also papers over a bug in the existing male/female choices, so that the Fortress Shadow will continue to appear properly in the chat dialog with its appearance altered.

NOTE: This class requires access to donator tiles, and thus requires the player to have donator status (including via purchasing the game through Steam).

Adds guaranteed sources of room-lighting to stores in Angolwen and Zigur, including new torques of illumination.

Allows you to choose which escorts you will encounter at the start of the game.
You may change the future encounters in the game menu (Esc).

There is an option to choose a random escort in case you just wanted to guarantee some unlocks before continuing with the base game's behavior.

Note: You're only supposed to be able to choose the lost tinker once. (Must have the Embers of Rage DLC and unlocked by playing in the Orcs campaign)
Note: Unfortunately the only time that addons can get the possible escort types is after the random escort quest is assigned.
This means escorts added by other addons will not be available for selection, but will still be possible to find using the random selection.

Adds game option "UI | Hilight arcane-disrupting equipment", which hilights in the equipment display any worn or wielded arcane-disrupting equipment that is causing the Antimagic Disruption effect.

Undoes a small change in release 1.1.5 of the Embers of Rage DLC, allowing schematics to once again be transmogrified via the Transmogrification Chest or melted down in the Automated Portable Extractor.

An experimental addon to coordinate and simplify swapping in specified sets of equipment for temporary use and re-wielding your original equipment later.

To use this addon, tag your swap-in items with SET:SetName (for whatever set name); in the "Swap Equipment Sets" dialog (bound to <Alt-Shift-X> by default), they will be listed as the set SetName, and can be wielded from the dialog (taking the normal amount of game time for such an equipment change). Your original equipment will be temporarily tagged with SET:SwapBack, so you can re-wield your original equipment by swapping in the SwapBack set.

Also provides an optional status indicator in the buffs display to remind you when you are wearing equipment from one of your swap-in sets (controlled by game option "Gameplay | Show marker for swapped-in equipment").

If you capture a soul via Soul Leech (or other method) while you are at maximum soul capacity and your Hiemal Shield is depleted, allows you to store the soul in a temporary Hiemal Buffer to be used to pay the soul cost the next time your Hiemal Shield regenerates (normal mana costs still apply).

Gives the player access to an item that can detect and highlight sand cavern walls in the Sandworm lair.

Modifies the character creation dialog to bypass the lock check for races and classes, allowing characters to be created using locked races and classes. Doesn't actually unlock anything.

Adds useful items to the game. Currently supported:

• Single-use infusion patches for healing, detrimental effect removal and temporary speed.
• Scrolls of phase door, teleportation and controlled phase door.
• Rods of trap detection and disarming.

[NOTE:   Due to a game bug involving the transmogrification chest and activatable objects, we recommend that users of this addon also use the Activatable Object Cleanup addon.]

Applies the existing "Gameplay | Swap tinkers" game option when wielding objects in the telekinetic slot via the Telekinetic Grasp talent, so that attached tinkers will (if requested) be transferred automatically from the old telekinetically-wielded item to the new one.

Adds more 1H staves with more variety to the game.

1H staves are so hard to find because in the base game there are only 2 egos that make a staff 1H.
This addon adds more 1H staff egos that are based on some of the existing 2H staff egos, but with some of the bonuses toned down.
Also slightly expands the number of staves available in staff stores to account for the wider variety.

It takes talents directly from the subclass/subrace list so it should :

- Bypass race/class compatibility
(Allowing Skeletons to take Wyrmic talents, or Cornacs to use those from the Stone Warden for instance.)

- Take talents trees from NPC only classes/races
(In the base game, that would be the two talent trees of the golem.)

- Ignore the locks
(Allowing Adventurers to use talent trees from classes you haven't unlocket yet, or things like Demented/Scourge Drake.)

Additionally, "undead/lich", "Cursed/Cursed Aura" and talents from the Fallen Paladin can also be selected.

Slightly adjust the random level selection for escort quests to avoid levels with zone bosses.

Modifies certain quest artifacts so that using them while no hostiles are in line of sight does not break stealth. Currently supported:

Places a significant damage malus on certain bosses that became absurdly over-deadly with the changes in versions 1.6 and 1.7. Affected bosses:

Gives the player an option to escape the orc ambush without fighting.

Modifies the Command Staff talent to work on a staff wielded in the offhand, psionic focus or other non-mainhand slot. If you are wielding multiple staffs, the talent will prompt you to choose one to modify.

Places a special object on level 3 of Lake of Nur that will help you in your fight with the Weirdling Beast.

Adds the ability to temporarily seal a naga invasion portal or Fearscape invasion portal, preventing further spawns from the portal but allowing you to unseal and enter it later.
