This is a stand-alone Quality of Life pack that improves some minor things about ToME gameplay.
This pack adds particles to certain effect types (such as "dizzy stars" for stuns and confusions, or green bubbles for poisons).
Background: It is otherwise difficult to tell if or when certain effects procced or not, and it is also kind of obnoxious having to check each and every enemy for whether they're affected by something or not.

Adds the Dark Priest, a mage subclass.

Even in an age of supposed prosperity, there are many who lose their lives in vain. Those who tend the wounded, returned home from battle or adventure, are highly skilled in the arts of healing, many using arcane techniques. But there are some who have seen too much. They have formed a brotherhood of those who have accepted the Dark Truth. Eyal has but one true God, and He demands sacrifices. The Dark Priest and his brethren tap into arcane energies to deliver the bad word unto all the people of Maj'Eyal. They manipulate darkness and life energy to convey their message of doom and despair. When that doesn't work, carrying a big stick helps, too.

Dark Priests use Magic and Cunning as their primary stats. They focus on Darkness and Arcane spells, and are proficient in staff combat, as well. They also have command of a unique kind of magic, Unhealing. Unhealing is negative healing and such functions differently than damage. It will not be affected by any type of damage mitigation and will be increased by the target's healing modifier.

I have played a lot of cultist and I wanted to try to fix some things wrong with it by giving it more build options, especially with the rift tree.

Version 1.2.1 released Jan 16, 2023; see change notes.

Audiomancy is an audio enhancement for ToME that does not affect music. It started with the High Quality Sounds mod (thanks to Gurkoz), but it does a bit more than replace sounds. It enhances the code introducing random variance, layering, and new trigger points. Weapon types (sword, great axe, mace, sling, bows, etc.) have distinct sounds in combat, along with NPC types having different impact sounds. Many weapons have distinct critical hit sounds as well. Ranged weapons have separated attack and hit sounds. Melee and ranged talents you would have expected to produce sound before likely will with this mod. Multiple hits trigger multiple sounds, e.g. the Volley talent. There is still more to do, especially in terms of providing distinct sound effects for various game mechanics and talents, but the code as-is will affect almost every sound played in the game while adding more. I attempted to maximize compatibility, replacing a single function and using superloading and hooking for the rest.

Fixed the attackTarget hook (thank you to "Chief of Kilimanjaro" and "purpel frog" in the ToME Discord); it now properly returns two values. This should fix various misc issues, anything dependent on the second return value.

Adds the Void Scholar, a twisted Celestial class themed around cosmic expansion and the emptiness of space, featuring a unique starting scenario. Void Scholars are dedicated spellcasters with poor durability, but many ways to negate damage and debilitate foes. Their spells are ineffective against nearby targets, but grow incredibly potent when cast at a distance -- strike from the depths of infinity, where no eyes or blades can reach! They use a unique resource called "Void Energy" that is built up by casting certain spells and quickly disperses when out of combat, requiring careful management to retain momentum.

Void (generic): Render foes impotent before the majesty of the Void!

Binds the Zone:create hook. This addon is safe to enable and disable on existing save files, though doing so will not have any effects for characters who have visited the sandworm lair already.

A new class, a Celestial summoner who draws on the powers of Shandral's other planets to call up elementals.
Their basic trees summon and support Fire, Ice, and Lightning Elementals, as well as providing utility effects.
Their unlockable advanced trees rain down Meteors and twist Time Elementals into being.
They start with Chants, and a new tree in the vein of chants and hymns. They can unlock Celestial Light.

Their main resource is negative energy, which they generate by summoning and some other spells, and spent by others.

This mod should be compatible with just about everything.

A new demented class, the Martyr.

This addon requires the Forbidden Cults DLC to function.

Unlike the magical folk of the Hidden Sanctuary, Martyrs' Insanity manifests in mental powers.
Martyrs mix together Sling and Melee combat, needing to use both (correctly timed with their current insanity) to succeed.
With time, they developed much stranger powers.

This pack compiles several classes, with an emphasis on hybrid design. Not all classes are complete: the ones which I'm not satisfied with are marked as either INCOMPLETE or "in BETA".

The classes included in this pack are:
- The Transcendent Fist is an unarmed Psionic warrior, using a gem in his TK slot to hit with flexible energy types.
- The Storm Warden is a melee-and-ranged skirmisher with magical mobility and support spells.
- The Striker is a cunning and covert class, with a focus on delivering shock-and-awe thunderbolts from stealth.
- The Gravitic Infantry is a melee-focused Chronomancy user (formerly named the Heavy).
- The Creep is a stalker in the dark, cunning and covert in his hate.
- The Vector uses disease and debilitation to keep his foes at range while he snipes them to death.
- The Flenser is a Defiler whose knives debilitate and torture his victims.
- The Blood Mage is a Vim-based caster with a mild dip into staff-melee combat.

(BETA) Shield Hero is an Adventurer who starts with heavy armor and a shield. Not very exciting unless you were annoyed about not being able to equip your Adventurer's shield right away.
(BETA) Prototype Hero is an Adventurer who starts with 1.3 mastery in every category. Not very useful for players, but it might be interesting for addon writers to spitball new category combinations.

(INCOMPLETE) The Flux Marauder is a Paradox thug, stealing time from his enemies.

Makes the monsters of Eyal somewhat more talkative...and prone to insulting you. Featuring taunts from Gaslamp Games' roguelike Dungeons of Dredmor! Also now featuring the EXTENSIVE taunt collection from the iconic Dredmor mod, Death By A Thousand Taunts. This mod was created by Deeborm, and is only included with their approval. Three cheers for Deeborm! Relive your dredmor adventures in the world of Eyal.

You can also add your own taunts! To do this create a file named verbose_user_defined_taunts.cfg and place it in your settings folder where it can be friends with all the other .cfg files. Inside this file put:
verbose_user_defined_taunts = {"I'm a taunt! ", "Your taunt here! ", "Taunts everywhere, taunts everywhere "}
except with your taunts. Just make sure they're all comma separated and in quotation marks. Additionally, due to something weird in how the the speech is displayed a small bit of the final character can sometimes be cut off. Add a space before the closing quotation mark to head this off. After that save it and enable custom taunts from the settings menu in-game!

All taunts (base Dredmor taunts, Deeborm's extended dredmor taunts, and custom taunts) can be toggled from the in-game settings, in the Misc tab.

Adds the Grove Keeper, a Wilder subclass. The Grove Keeper is pirmarily a mindpower-caster with limited summoning ability, but has the option to mix slings, or one-handed weapons and unarmed attacks, into their skill set. They are also able to become proficient with mindstars and focus wholly on mind-casting. Includes advanced class categories favoring either weapon-hybrid or mind-casting play style, with the advanced hybrid tree working equally well for ranged or melee.

Improvements to the Possessor class. Original by Velk, with fixes and tweaks by mannendake.
Specifically, full control grants 2 talent slots per level instead of 1, and will grant up to 24. This fits the "vanilla" maximum with 0.40 mastery amulet, a category point, and adept granting talent level 12.

Significantly increases the number of items available for purchase in all shops, and allows some higher-quality items.

Players can set the number of items with the new option appearing in the 'Game Options/Gameplay' tab.

Power comes at a price, but the price is worth paying...

This addon adds more Taints to the game.

Taints are Inscriptions powered by corrupt forces. As such, they are arcane so Oozemancers and other Zigur Zealots need not apply.
They do not get egos for scaling, instead they scale on a new stat called Taintmarks.
Taintmarks are a measure of how tainted by corrupted forces you are.
Each Taintmark increases the power and duration of Taints by 20%, but decrease you luck by 1 and increase the cooldown on nature gifts by 1.
Taintmarks are gained in many ways:
Each inscribed Taint grants a Taintmark.
Possessing a corrupt power source like Vim or Hate grants a Taintmark.
Being Undead, becoming Undead or changing your shape grants a Taintmark.
Giving in to your Hate grants a Taintmark.
Having Dark Ritual, Ruin or Blurred Mortality grant a Taintmark.
Having Blighted Summoning, Corrupted Shell, Bloodspring or Legacy of the Naloren grant a Taintmark.

Taintmarks are listed on your character sheet under stats.

Current Taints are only a little more rare than normal inscriptions. In v1 they will be much rarer but certain bosses will have a guaranteed Taint drop.

List of Taints:
Devourer: As before but also eats on of your own sustains for more healing.
Telepathy: As before but both effects have the same duration.
Darkness: Darkens the area, grants a temporary stealth boost and makes you activate stealth mode (even if you don't have it), but decreases your darkness resistance.
Vampire: Adds Life Leech chance and amount, but decreases your light resistance.
Blood Magic: Increases your Spellpower and lets you cast with life instead of mana/vim when needed, but decreases your physical save.
Reaper: Increases you physical power and restores resources on kills, but decreases your spell save.
Inversion: Grants damage affinity all, but changes some of your damage to healing.
Shade: Allows you to walk through walls and grants evasion, but reduces your healing.
Ghoulish Rot: Your hits apply Ghoulish Rot disease but your movement speed is decreased. Also blocks hits from being above a certain amount.
Banshee: Scream doing mind damage and causing confusion in nearby enemies, but silences you.
Bone Thorns: Sharp thorns sprout from your bones causing heavy bleeding damage to enemy attackers, but also causes you to bleed. Also increases armour and hardiness.
Blood Snare: Hurl a blood bomb at the target where it explodes, doing blight damage and pinning enemies. This blood bomb is made from your own blood.
Acceleration: Reduces cooldowns, but then they are on cooldown for longer when used.
Exchange: Removes debuffs from you then inflicts you with another random debuff.

Not all adventurers seek fortune, not all that defend the world have good deeds in mind.
Lately the number of sightings of horrors have grown tremendously. People wander off the beaten paths only to be found years later, horribly mutated and partly insane, if they are found at all. It is becoming evident something is stirring deep below Maj'Eyal.
That something is you.

Forbidden Cults is a big expansion for Tales of Maj'Eyal to let you explore the horrors that lurk beneath the surface, to delve in long lost knowledge and lore and as usual to die a lot!

Forbidden Cults makes two new classes available to play:

• Writhing One: Give in to the corrupting forces and turn yourself gradually into an horror, summon horrors to do your bidding, shed your skin and melt your face to assault your foes. With your arm already turned into a tentacle, what creature can stop you?
• Cultist of Entropy: Using its insanity and control of entropic forces to unravel the normal laws of physic this caster class can turn healing into attacks and call upon the forces of the void to reduce its foes to dust.

Both those classes use a new resource called Insanity that gradually makes you both more chaotic and powerful as it fills up.

Forbidden Cults makes two new races available to play:

• Drem: A corrupt subrace of dwarves, that somehow managed to keep a shred of sanity to not fully devolve into mindless horrors. They can enter a frenzy and even learn to summon horrors.
• Krog: Ogres transformed by the very thing that should kill them. Their powerful attacks can stun their foes and they are so strong they can dual wield any one handed weapons.

Forbidden Cults adds many new zones for you to explore and die in:

Characters are given +2 Class Talents, +2 Generic Talents, +10 Stat Points, and +1 Prodigy Points upon reaching level 10.
(you'll still have to be level 30 and meet all other requirements to use Prodigies, of course)

This is meant to compensate for the removal of Alchemist Quests, Escorts, Yeek Wayist's Buff, and Wyrm Bile's Stat Changes which are tedious but provide very nice rewards. The idea is to restore some of the power which is lost by removing these rewards without changing the overall strength of the character. Getting the Light Category via escort, for instance, is easily as good as most Prodigies.

The Higher were not the Conclave's first attempt at infusing humans with magic, but rather the result of long years of failed creations. The descendants of those who managed to survive these experiments are today called the Fallen. Although they command intense magical power, their bodies are weak and sickly.

Places guaranteed water-breathing equipment in Last Hope's lost merchant store and makes it available via an NPC in Irkkk. In the Embers of Rage DLC, also places similar gear in various stores in Kruk Pride. In the Hammer of Urh'Rok campaign, places water-breathing gear in Lake of Nur.

One year has passed since the one the Orcs call the "Scourge from the West" came and single-handedly crushed the Orc Prides of Grushnak, Vor, Gorbat, and Rak'Shor.  The Allied Kingdoms, now linked by farportal to their distant, long-lost Sunwall allies, have helped them conquer most of Var'Eyal.  The few remnants of the ravaged Prides are caged...  but one Pride remains.  Kruk Pride, isolated on an island, is the last orcish settlement that stands; they, too, face their impending doom.  The Sunwall has blockaded the only exit point from the island, and now, the technologically advanced civilization of Steam Giants have come down from the mountains to take their homeland with machines and weaponry unlike anything else on Eyal.  Kruk Pride has reverse-engineered their technology before; their only hope is to do it again and rise up against the Pride's foes.

Adds the Spellweaver, a Mage subclass who creates custom spells with Spellweaving components.
For example, a Spellweaver might make a spell using the Fire element, the Beam shape, and the Damage Over Time effect to make a simple Damage over Time Fire Beam. However, spells can get vastly more complicated, with things like a "Grand Checkerboard of Eclipsing and Feverish Wallweaving and Prismatic and Radiat Lingering Harm" if you want to be way over the top.
Additionally, Spellweavers can make shielding and teleportation spells with components too, although all three types of spells use the same slots.
Spellweavers who are Humans, Elves, Dwarves or Undeads will also begin in Wovenhome in the East and have a special dungeon to start the game.

Plenum ToolTip: Enhanced tooltip display for ToME version 2.4 for ToME 1.3.0

This addon replaces the normal tooltip for actors in TOME with a more detailed description of monster abilities and characteristics. It adds to the standard tooltip detailed information on speed, main-hand, off-hand, and ranged damage, and damage modifiers and extra crit power, including damage penetration and damage affinities, plus retaliation damage, depending on what options are selected (from a tab in Game Options menu). This makes it much easier to inspect multiple monsters and quickly identify the most threatening. By holding a meta-key (ctrl, alt, or shift) and hovering the mouse over a monster, information on its status immunities and talents is displayed.

A complete rework for Bulwark.

Secrets of Telos only requires one piece of the staff and doesn't consume it, and passively boosts equipment with talent on hit (spell) by increasing the level of the spell by 1, and the chance by half or 5%, whichever is greater.

Lucky Day is completely reworked, every time you cast it you gain one unique artifact of your choice (that you haven't already found and isn't a quest/plot/lore artifact), but also increases all money gained and damage taken by 10% per cast, stacking multiplicatively. Can be cast any number of times, artifacts gained this way can't be vaulted

Generalist replaces Tricky Defenses. When learned, you select one talent category from a different subclass in the same class and learn it unlocked at 1.3 mastery.

Bullet Hell replaces Automated Reflex System. Your movement speed is squared (up to 2000%), and all incoming projectiles are randomly assigned a speed between 50% and 300%. (passive)

Adds Vampires as a playable race, as jack of all trades with access to necromantic trees.

Description:

Enables faster run/resting by use of FPS dividers.

These dividers simply divide the game's requested FPS by their respective values while resting or running. After starting a new game or loading a saved character, configure this addon by hitting escape -> video options. Setting these dividers to something greater than one can substantially reduce the amount of time required to finish resting/running on older computers.

Just be careful when resting on an escort mission...

Embalming increases Strength and Willpower
Entangle wraps up an enemy, slowing them, with a low cooldown.
Inevitability wears away at the resistances of your enemies as your own resistances mount.
Uniquely, they have a small secondary racial tree that removes detrimental effects.
Mummies begin in their own starter zone, a low-level dungeon reminiscent of both the Blighted Scar and the Elven Ruins.
Mummies are initially locked, and unlock by defeating the Mummy Lord

Blast enemies with elemental power.
Ignore attacks with your ghostly nature.
Unerringly seek out enemies, even behind walls

Phoenix Knight: Powerful warriors who blast their foes with solar fire while calling healing light upon their allies. Their solar fire attacks will strike as either fire or light damage, whichever will hit their target the hardest, and their potent healing and cleansing abilities make them tough opponents to bring down.

Mind Knight: Psionic warriors who strengthen their mental abilities by tapping into their inner magic. Adept at telekinesis, telepathy, and teleportation, they are mobile scouts who can quickly get a lay of the land and sow chaos among their foes with physical and mental debilitations, or even outright compulsions.

Storm Knight: Swift skirmishers who rely on extreme mobility and powerful lightning magic to strike their foes down and avoid reprisals. Extremely fast and difficult to pin down, they can cast entire enemy units into disarray with their wealth of area attacks. All mage knights can cast while they fight, but experienced storm knights are also able to fight while they move.

Earth Knight: The heaviest of infantry, earth knights hammer their foes with physical and natural forces while shielding themselves with the power of the earth. Highly resilient in the face of any attack, earth knights provide a slow and steady offense supported by powerful gemstone shields and the endurance of a living mountain.

Sea Knight: Healers first, fighters second, battle mages a somewhat distant third, while sea knights lack the raw offensive power of other mage knights, they make up for it with amazing personal defense and recovery abilities. And though their attacks may be individually weak, like the sea itself, they are able to wear down even the strongest defenses eventually, eroding their opponents away with gradually strengthening spells, making them terrors in a battle of attrition.

Mana Knight: Experimenting pioneers who do amazing things with raw magical energy. They have the most conventional magical training of the mage knights, even if they sometimes put it to unconventional use. Their arcane attacks can overwhelm the powers of other spellcasters, and while they lack the scope of power of full-fledged archmages, they are masters of the fundamentals of the various arcane schools.

Allows you to choose which escorts you will encounter at the start of the game.
You may change the future encounters in the game menu (Esc).

There is an option to choose a random escort in case you just wanted to guarantee some unlocks before continuing with the base game's behavior.

Note: You're only supposed to be able to choose the lost tinker once. (Must have the Embers of Rage DLC and unlocked by playing in the Orcs campaign)
Note: Unfortunately the only time that addons can get the possible escort types is after the random escort quest is assigned.
This means escorts added by other addons will not be available for selection, but will still be possible to find using the random selection.

For pre-existing saves you can enable developer mode (in the main menu, under options) When in game, press "ctrl+a" then press "r" to reload the zone and the new content will load in. (Enabling developer mode will disable achievements)

2. Dialog to purchase spells wont appear unless you have the required amount of gold.

You can [reveal] the talent tree for free, talents will be [revealed] in the level up menu ('p'). You will need the required amount of gold to be your inventory for the dialog option to [unlock] the talent tree to appear. The cost will be listed for each talent.

3. DLC is NOT required to play this addon

Talents that require dlc will be clearly noted next to the talent, if you don't own a dlc and try to purchase a dlc talent the gold will be removed but the talent wont be acquired.

4. Will CONFLICT with any mod that changes the world map (eyal.lua) Incompatible with \"Extra Dungeons\", \"Godmode Merchant\" & \"Infinite Dungeons Merchants\"

Adds the Incantor of Flame, a mage subclass.

The Incantor of Flame is a Fire-focused caster and melee shield fighter. Their primary stats are Magic and Strength.

Adds more Whips and Tridents to the game. Formerly, this was part of my Naloren Race add-on.

Tridents are unchanged, aside from rarity.
As vanilla ToME only has artifact whips, this add-on adds base whips of all teirs. Whips require dexterity, have an 80% dexterity damage modifier, and have a +procs damage accuracy bonus (the same as staves).
Additionally, whips and tridents can be purchased from weapon stores (dagger and mace shops, respectively) and purchased from the rand art merchant. Affected shops have had their inventory size slightly increased to adjust for the greaeter variety.

Credits: I borrowed the whip graphic from grayswandir's Weapon Pack add-on, and bits of code for adding exotics to shops and the rand art merchant from HousePet's Midnight add-on.

New paths opened by the Fae currently include:

Charmed (class): Ordinary creatures drawn haplessly into the faeries' mischief. Adapt to their capricious will and unleash havoc upon the battlefield in a chaotic flash of mist-woven steel!

Wood Sprite (race): Eyal-born faeries of wood and wind, mischievous and mobile. Unburdened by heavy armour, fly circles around your witless adversaries before sending them peacefully to their graves in a gentle Midsummer Dream!

Moonchild (class): Unfortunate souls infused with the faeries' magic from birth, bent by its will as they bend it to theirs. Shattered between Spring's slothful light and Autumn's merciless chill, find peace within your broken halves to dominate any who oppose you with peerlessly destructive and illusive magic!

Fetch (race): Wretched imitations of mortals created by and for the faeries' fancy, forever yearning to be whole. Shatter your body and soul to shift your identity and avoid danger, and mimic the talents of others to make yourself at last complete!

Additionally includes a new starting scenario with original art, music, and dialogue, 7 new artifacts, 6 new enemy mobs, and an unlockable Fae-Drake category for Wyrmic. The realm of the Fae is ever-changing, and new paths may yet open in the future!

This addon makes items description easier to read and determine on a glance it's usefulness
- sorts all stats by category - DPS/DEF/MISC
- item's passive power always the same blue color (not a random blue-yellow-pink-green)
- item's usable power - always yellow
- all rarity categories are displayed
- encumbrance value moved to the right under item name
- "on hit" powers always green
- "Stats" have an ornage highlight and placed before others because it's most important one
- Removed many extra-explain details, which any veteran player would not want to read each time
for example, stat "S.pwr/crit" shorten from "Spellpower on spell critical (stacks up to 3 times)"
means you do remember that it can stack only 3 times, and is not so super important anyway
- DLC supported - Orcs/Ashes
- few bug-fixes along the way

Most important thing to remember
- Requirements only shown for those you don't meet. If you want to see all reqs - hold CTRL
- "Phasing" stat means - "Damage Shield penetration", the name was taken from the source and looks good to me, and short enough
- The "-" minus sign at the end of stat mean immunity or reduction of some sort, for example "Blind-" = "Blindness immunity",
- "Max.summ" = Max wilder summons
- "Summ.HP.reg" = Life regen bonus (wilder-summons)
- "Def/telep" = Defense after a teleport
- "Res/telep" = Resist all after a teleport
- "Dur/telep" = New effects duration reduction after a teleport

Uncast spells to produce nature based magical effects.
Its an agile nature mage, but can be played as a fighter/mage hybrid, or as a summoner hybrid.
Uses staves, alchemist gems and equilibrium.
Werebeast Class:
Werebeast fits somewhere between Cursed and Wyrmic, with a touch of Rogue thrown in.
Flavour is you have been cursed by nature's hate at those who harm it.
Can be played with conventional weapons or dual mindstars, stealthy or heavy.
Uses both Hate and Equilibrium.
Woodsman Class:
Archery, Summoning and Traps.
Use whatever you need to survive.
Summoner:
A full rework is available.
Allows you to command your critters to attack or defend.
Wyrmic:
A few talents improved and many new categories.
General:
Loads of nature based artifacts.
A few of new inscriptions.
Oozemancer can get the Wild-gift/Symbiant category.

Zigur:
As Druid's use spells they cannot become a Zigur follower, as this would make all their talents unusable.
However, you can still attempt to join Zigur, you might get something special instead.
